Britney Spears Splits From Boyfriend David Lucado

Looks like Britney Spears is a single woman again! Spears split from boyfriend of a year and a half David Lucado. Spears wasn’t exactly discreet in breaking the news. The pop star took to Twitter to express her freedom from Lucado.

“Ahhhh the single life!” Spears tweeted late afternoon.

According to TMZ Britney broke off the relationship with David after a video was going around of Lucado making out with another woman in someone’s living room.

TMZ reached out to David Lucado’s rep who had this to say about the whole break up.

“David is very, very in love with Britney. This is unfortunate and he hopes that it all works out.”

It hasn’t been smooth sailing for the couple. Aside from Lucado’s alleged cheating on Britney, Spears let on that there was a problem or two in the relationship. While on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, Britney admitted that they were in the middle of a fight the night before she came on the show.

The reason for their fight back then was due to Lucado’s lack of attentiveness

“I haven’t seen him today. We were in a tiffy last night. It’s his fault, of course. He forgot to call me back for a really long time, but we’re fine now. He forgot for six hours. We’re totally fine now.”

According to the pop singer she met David at a party, after Spears’ friends introduced her to Lucado. When asked if she liked him right away Spears said, “I think it was instant. He’s very passionate, he’s funny, and he’s sexy. I love him.”

Last year the singer told Entertainment Tonight about her relationship with David:

“I’m in love. I like the fact that he’s very stubborn and he’s stuck in his ways. He’s just a simple man. I adore him.”

This of course isn’t the only heartbreak Spears has had to get over. At the height of her career she endured a very public break up with then Nsync frontman Justin Timberlake. Following that relationship she eloped in Las Vegas with her childhood friend Jason Alexander but the marriage lasted for hours before it was annulled.

Spears was previously married to Kevin Federline, who she shares two children with, Sean, 8, and Jayden, 7. She almost made it down the aisle again when she became engaged to her former agent Jason Trawick in 2011 but the pair decided to call it quits in January of 2013.

We don’t know whether or not she will reunite with Lucado, but we’re sure she won’t be on the market for long.
