Johnny Galecki Breakup: ‘The Big Bang Theory’ Star And Actress Girlfriend Split
Johnny Galecki just became one of TV’s most eligible bachelors.
According to Us Weekly, a source recently confirmed that The Big Bang Theory star has split from actress Kelli Garner. Garner is probably best known for her role on Pan Am, a short-lived ABC TV series about flight attendants.
Johnny Galecki and Kelli Garner dated for two years. The couple was happily vacationing in Mexico just a few months ago, and they attended the wedding of Galecki’s Big Bang Theory co-star Kaley Cuoco-Sweeting on New Year’s Eve.
A source told Us Weekly the split was amicable and “Johnny and Kelli are still best friends.” Galecki actually has a history of remaining friends with his exes. As The Inquistir previously reported, the actor once dated The Big Bang Theory co-star Kaley Cuoco-Sweeting.
Johnny Galecki told CBS Watch! Magazine that he and Kaley are still “dear friends,” but there’s a reason he doesn’t like to talk about their time together.
“I just don’t like to speak about it. And not because I’m trying to be enigmatic; I just worry that it will conflict with people’s acceptance of Leonard and Penny. I get the curiosity, but I don’t want to distract from the story.”
Cuoco-Sweeting also chatted to CBS! Watch about their romance, and she admitted that trying to keep it under wraps played a part in their breakup after two years together. Kaley also seemed to realize that she and Johnny Galecki wouldn’t last forever.
“We knew we weren’t destined to be together. We accepted it and said, ‘Look, if we ever break up, we will be professional. I’m so lucky it was a mutual ending and that we don’t hate each other. We’ve seen that happen on other shows.”
Kaley Cuoco-Sweeting isn’t the only co-star Johnny Galecki has dated. According to TODAY, Sara Gilbert opened up about her relationship with Galecki on The Talk. Sara started dating Johnny when they were working together on Roseanne, but she said that something just didn’t feel right.
“I thought he was super cute and had a crush on him. We started dating, and he would come over and we would, like, make out, and then I would start to get depressed.”
Gilbert’s reaction hurt Galecki’s feelings until she explained that her response was about her sexuality. “He was super sweet about it,” Sara said. Gilbert was finally comfortable enough with her sexuality to come out as a lesbian in 2010, and Galecki supported her decision to share their relationship story. The two have remained such good pals that they’ve played lovers on The Big Bang Theory. However, Gilbert’s Leslie Winkle wasn’t the greatest girlfriend.
Johnny Galecki might be unlucky in love when it comes to dating his co-stars, but his continued friendships with his exes indicate that he’s a very sweet, mature guy who would be an excellent boyfriend. And with his $1 million per episode Big Bang Theory salary, the ladies should certainly be lining up.
