Beyoncé, Jay-Z VMA Backstage Video Proves It — Power Couple NOT Getting Divorced

Are you a sucker for all those Beyoncé and Jay-Z divorce rumors? If so, then you might not want to watch this video, which appears to show that the music industry power couple are not so splitsville after all.

In fact, everything seems just hunky-dory in Beyoncé and Jay-Z land.

Divorce rumors have dogged the mega-couple since a video leaked back in May showing Solange Knowles, sister of Beyoncé, was seen physically attacking Beyoncé’s husband, Jay-Z aka Shawn Carter, in an elevator after the star-studded Met Gala.

At the time, the rumors had it that Solange was enraged that Jay-Z had been unfaithful to her sister, Beyoncé. Ever since, divorce rumor after divorce rumor was thrown at the couple as they continued their joint “On The Run” tour, performing in stadiums across the United States.

But at the Video Music Awards on Sunday, August 24, Beyoncé and Jay-Z — holding their 2-year-old daughter Blue Ivy — indulged in a prominent and seemingly sincere smooch, as if to let the world know that they were indeed still very much committed to one another.

Not everyone was convinced. While conspiracy theories held that the kiss was just a performance for public consumption, a body-language expert named Susan Constantine told The New York Post that in her view, the conspiracy theories were correct.

“I see a lot of hurt and pain here,” she told The Post. “They’re just trying to save face. They feel no emotions toward each other.”

But if that’s true, how does Constantine and the other conspiracy theorists explain this blurry backstage video, leaked to the New York-based Gawker site, that shows Beyoncé and Jay-Z showing the same affection toward each other backstage at the VMAs — when no one is watching. Or at least, they don’t know that anyone’s watching.

The leaker who sent Gawker the video vouched for its authenticity by pointing out that Beyoncé, Jay-Z and Blue Ivy appear to wear the same outfits they would soon be seen sporting on stage at the awards show.

“In the video, which was shot before the performance,” Gawker wrote, “you can see Beyoncé lean over to kiss Blue, who is being held by Jay, before giving her husband a quick peck on the lips.”
