Beyonce Divorce Rumors Made Up? Matthew Knowles References ‘Jedi Mind Trick’

Did Beyonce and Jay Z let divorce rumors circulate to promote their tour? That’s what Beyonce’s father seems to be saying. According to Radar Online, Mathew Knowles was recently asked about the rumors during a visit with Roula & Ryan on 104.1 KRBE in Houston. Shockingly, Mr. Knowles admitted that the hype was actually created to boost ticket sales for Bey and Jay’s On The Run Tour. Can you believe it?

“I know, because we’ve done this. From experience, there’s a tour going on. So you sometimes have to ignite that tour. It’s called a Jedi mind trick. The Jedi mind trick fools you a lot.”

When Matthew Knowles was asked specifically about the elevator fight between Solange and Jay Z, his response was quite simple.

“All I know is the Jedi mind trick. Everyone’s talking about it. Ticket sales went up. Solange’s album sales went up 200%!”

Beyonce divorce rumors have been circulating for months, and many thought that the couple would make some kind of announcement at the MTV VMAs on Sunday night. And that they did. Jay Z presented his wife with the Video Vanguard Award, and while on stage, the two shared a kiss on the lips. Bey also said that she loved Jay, calling him her “beloved.” As previously reported by The Inquisitr, the two pretty much squashed the divorce rumors right then and there. How convenient? Their tour is just about over.

“I love ya’ll so much,” Bey said, looking at Jay and Blue. “Blue, Blue I love you. My beloved.”

News that Beyonce and Jay Z allowed these divorce rumors to continue without intercepting them on purpose has some fans quite angry. Why would this power couple need to make up or go along with stories just to promote their tour? Well, apparently ticket sales for On The Run weren’t doing so well at the beginning (could it have been because the prices were ridiculous?), so there is a chance that this could be true.

With their names in the news every other day, Jay Z and Beyonce undoubtedly benefited from all the gossip. In fact, instead of the couple stopping their tour in France next month, they have added more tour dates. This time? Jay and Bey are taking their love train (and their impressive track list) to Australia. According to Yahoo! News, the tickets were accidentally leaked on a ticketing website even though the tour hasn’t officially been announced by the couple.
