Mariah Carey Divorce: Mariah Flees New York City, Where Are ‘Dem Babies’?

Mariah Carey divorce drama is heating up! The Honey singer stepped out for lunch in New York City on Tuesday, and then was seen later in the day leaving her apartment with suitcases, destination unknown. According to Radar Online, Mariah looked like she was fleeing town amid rumors that her marriage to Nick Cannon is over.

While there was no mention of Mariah’s twins (whom she and Cannon lovingly refer to as “Dem Babies”) along with those suitcases, Mail Online reports that Moroccan and Monroe, 3, were with Mariah when she went to lunch (on the menu? Pizza). It is presumed that the twins went with their mom on the mystery trip, but details are unknown at this time.

Mariah Carey divorce rumors were pretty much confirmed by Nick Cannon last week when he admitted that there was “trouble in paradise.” Since then, Mariah has filed legal paperwork to silence her husband, prohibiting him from speaking publicly about the state of their marriage. As previously reported by The Inquisitr, Nick will get slapped with some serious fines if he breaks the confidentiality agreement. Naturally, Mariah can say anything she’d like whenever she pleases.

“Nick is barred from saying anything about the split. If he does, there are severe financial penalties. But Mariah has the right under the agreement to announce the split on her terms.”

Mariah Carey is expected to file for divorce from Nick Cannon in the coming weeks — the paperwork could be filed at any time. Despite reports that the couple is reconciling, that doesn’t seem to be the case at all.

As for why the couple is having such serious problems, sources say that Mariah’s mental state isn’t great right now. While that might not be a reason for Nick Cannon to run for the hills, their relationship has reportedly become quite strenuous, and it is much easier (and probably healthier) for both of them to be apart at the present time. There has been some chatter about Nick being concerned for the well-being of his kids, but so far, there has been no motion suggesting that he will try to take them from Mariah.

Of course, if Mariah left town with Dem Babies, there is a chance that Nick will be sending some paperwork to court to at least keep his kids in the same state as him — and that’s probably not a bad idea.
