Beyonce & Jay Z Divorce: Couple Reportedly Fought Backstage At VMAs After Appearing Together On Stage

Beyoncé and Jay Z may have tried to put divorce rumors to rest by appearing onstage together at the 2014 MTV Video Music Awards, but sources say the true nature of their crumbling marriage came through during a backstage fight.

At the award show on Sunday, the couple put on the front of being a perfect family as Jay Z surprised his wife onstage while she was receiving the Video Vanguard Award. With daughter Blue Ivy in tow, Jay Z embraced his wife and appeared to put rumors of marital strife to bed.

But it was a much different story backstage, a source told MediaTakeOut. The trouble reportedly involved Beyoncé’s sister Solange Knowles, who famously attacked Jay Z after the Met Gala earlier this year.

The report noted:

“According to our snitch Solange was ‘BANNED’ from entering the area, and Beyonce didn’t know about it. It’s not clear whether Solange’s 4 M’bannin’ was a request made by Jay Z, or by MTV. But the insider explained, ‘Beyonce was arguing with security asking about Solange. I always thought that Beyonce was very soft spoken, she’s not. She was all in the [security guard’s] face.’

“Jay Z, we’re told, then came by and tried to calm down Beyonce, The insider explained, ‘Jay tried to calm her down but she started yelling at him too. She wasn’t really yelling, but she was talking mad. Her neck was twisting too, like she was giving him hell.’

“The insider ended, ‘Beyonce then walked away, and everyone was quiet. It was very awkward to see Bey act like that towards her husband.'”

While most sources indicate that Beyoncé and Jay Z are headed for divorce, other insiders disagree. Beyoncé’s mom, Tina Knowles, ripped rumors of trouble between the couple. Tina told TMZ that their marriage is “perfect” and that the divorce rumors are nothing but “BS.”

But many believed that Tina Knowles was simply trying to deflect attention from the failing marriage. Many sources have indicated that Beyoncé and Jay Z have already worked out the details of their divorce and are planning to officially announce the split sometime after the completion of their joint On The Run summer tour.

Others say that Beyoncé is already getting divorce advice from friend Gwyneth Paltrow.

“Beyonce has been leaning on Gwyneth for support and advice on how to best handle her rocky relationship with Jay Z. Gwyneth adores both Beyonce and Jay Z, so it’s not like she’s taking sides,” a source said. “But her main words of advice have been to take things slowly and to not rush into making any drastic decisions.”

While many sources indicate they are headed for divorce, Beyoncé and Jay Z have never addressed the reports directly.
