Some young children got the thrill of their lives visiting the beluga whales at the Mystic Aquarium in Connecticut. As the children stand at the large glass wall, they are suddenly full of shock and giggles as Juno, the funny beluga whale , decides to play peek-a-boo with them.
According to WTSB News , Juno, who shares a 750,000-gallon tank with two other Belugas, has earned quite a reputation by entertaining anyone who comes to see him. He seems to enjoy the reactions he gets as he darts toward the glass in a playful manner. The more the reaction Juno gets, the more he wants to play.
Dr. Tracy Romano, the chief marine biologist at Mystic Aquarium, explains to CBS News that Juno is “really just playing with them (the kids). He’s playing peekaboo. Boo!… The kids getting his reaction is really what’s spurring him on to keep doing it.”
Dr. Romano continues to say:
“This behavior was not trained in Juno. Belugas as a species are very social and playful animals.
While this video has been shared more than 400,000 times, other Beluga whales have had entertaining videos that have gone viral with over 4 million views. Stop by and see Juno if you make your way to Mystic.
