Louis Tomlinson And Harry Styles At Odds About One Direction’s Future

Louis Tomlinson and Harry Styles reportedly have very different ideas about where One Direction should head next. The result: tension galore.

If all goes according to the group’s master plan, then a new album should find its way onto retail shelves before the end of the year. The guys previously said they wanted to release new music every 12 months, an impressive feat by anyone’s standards. What said, manager Simon Cowell thinks the group only has about two albums left in them.

According to Heat Magazine — by way of the folks over at Unreality TV — Louis Tomlinson has a very clear vision of where the band should go next, musically speaking. Unfortunately for Tomlinson, he’s reportedly butting heads with Harry Styles in the studio. For those who love to fill their minds with unsubstantiated gossip, an anonymous source has spilled the beans about all that unsightly friction.

Here’s what the insider had to say about the increasingly tumultuous situation:

“Harry clashes with the boys all the time about musical direction – especially Niall, who thinks he’ll alienate fans with his plan to move away from pop. It’s turning into a real power struggle, but Harry’s so stubborn. There’s always speculation about Harry quitting and going solo, which has totally p**sed everyone off.”

The Irish Independent points out that Louis Tomlinson is interested in keeping 1D’s music in line with the stuff they’ve recorded in the past. Although Tomlinson really loves the band’s pop sound, Harry apparently wants to head in a more rock-oriented direction. There’s also rumors that he’s working on his own material, which once again suggests that he’s thinking about releasing a solo record.

Of course, this isn’t the first time we’ve heard reports about Louis Tomlinson and his shaggy-haired bandmate clashing behind-the-scenes. Shortly after a video surfaced of Tomlinson and Zayn Malik enjoying some herbal refreshment (read: marijuana), reports suggested that the tension between the singers was at an all-time high.

Unfortunately for Styles, Louis Tomlinson isn’t the only person who has a problem with his attitude. The Inquisitr previously reported that Zayn and Harry have butted heads in recent days, due in part to Styles’ frequent lectures.

“Harry thinks the others are immature and not as driven as him, while Louis and [Zayn Malik] get irritated with his lectures.”
