Neil Patrick Harris Takes On ALS Ice Bucket Challenge With Some Help [Video]
After being nominated by Ben Affleck, Cookie Monster, and Jayma Mays actor and Tony award winning star Neil Patrick Harris finally completed the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge.
If this isn’t one of the cutest ALS Ice Bucket challenges, then we don’t know what is. Neil Patrick Harris was joined by his husband David Burtka, and their adorable twins, Gideon Scott and Harper Grace for some help.
Before he got iced up on his stoop in New York City, he made sure to nominate a few people. Actors Dave Franco, Christina Hendricks, and Nathan Fillion will have to take the challenge next.
In the video the How I Met Your Mother star made sure that children Harper and Gideon were out of the way before he was doused with ice water. The kids stand back and let out a few excited giggles as their father David dumps the icy water on father Neil.
So why did Neil Patrick Harris take Ben Affleck’s challenge? Well despite the fact that it’s for a good cause, Harris joked:
“Any time an Affleck goes on camera and says he wants to see you specifically with your shirt off, you can’t really ignore that one.”
“That was a bucket list-y video for him to shoot. He’s crushing on me hard.”
Before posting the video the actor sent out this tweet to announce that he has accepted the challenge.

Ben Affleck and Neil Patrick Harris must have gotten acquainted on the set of their new film Gone Girl. In the film Affleck plays Nick Dunne, a man accused of being involved in the disappearance of his wife Amy. Harris plays Amy’s obsessively creepy high school boyfriend Desi Collings, who is rumored to be involved in the disappearance as well. Here’s a look in photos of Neil’s ALS Ice Bucket Challenge:

In addition to Neil Patrick Harris, other Broadway stars have been nominated including Idina Menzel, the cast of Les Mis, and The Book of Mormon.
