50 Cent Jabs Back At Floyd Mayweather: “You Know I Got Money!!”
Floyd Mayweather and 50 Cent put on the boxing gloves…again.
This one-of-many bouts between the undefeated welterweight boxing champion and the Grammy Award-winning rapper involved one making fun of the other’s literary abilities (or lack of) and the other clapping back with pics of multi-million dollar checks.
It all started, no thanks to the infectious ALS ice bucket challenge craze, when 50 Cent decided to make up a unique challenge of his own to his former financial partner and close friend.
The challenge describes the G-Unit leader offering to give away $750,000 to any charity of Mayweather’s choice if he can read one full page of a Harry Potter book.
And to add insult to injury, The Breakfast Club’s Charlamagne Tha God poked fun about the entire scenario, playing an old audio clip of Mayweather struggling to read a 10 second promotional on Friday.
Reviews about the popular hip hop station’s choice to air Mayweather’s literary difficulties came with some backlash. However, Charlamagne cleared the air about trying to diss Mayweather.
“I got nothing but respect for Floyd Mayweather. He’s the greatest defensive fighter of all time, but I got a show to do. I gotta sell tickets too, baby. Just like he likes to put on a show, I like to put on a show to. This is for our listeners’ benefit.”
In an attempt to hush all the literary haters, Mayweather responds to the jokes in good ol’ Mayweather fashion with a tweet and series of multimillion dollar checks Friday night.
In fact, according to Forbes magazine, Mayweather is the richest athlete for 2014, so those checks are probably authentic.
But the drama does not end there.
50 Cent claps back a second time to Mayweather, boasting about his own bank account statements in this Instagram video.
He then posts a photo-shopped picture of the boxing champion contending against Daniel Radcliffe’s fictional character.
The trash-talk ball in currently in Mayweather’s court, though he has yet to respond.
This certainly is not 50 Cent’s first time poking fun at Mayweather, or anybody, to garner attention. He actually has a grocery list of folks he has created beef with in the past.
According to Us Weekly, 50 talked about Beyonce’s breath to Watch What Happens Live host Andy Cohen. His lists of former and current enemies include Nas, Ja Rule, Diddy and Lil’ Wayne.
Harry Potter has not responded to 50 Cent volunteering him to a Mayweather fight.
