Randy Orton’s WWE star status seems to have fallen quite a lot lately. First there was that aborted story line where you had Dave Batista challenging Orton for the belt only to have Daniel Bryan’s popularity with the fans win the day. Then he was squashed by Roman Reigns recently at SummerSlam 2014. But now the WWE wrestler is acting like a little kid in the back of the class waving his arm as if to say, “Don’t forget about me!”
In a related report by The Inquisitr , Roman Reigns made Randy Orton his water boy when designing a fantasy sports team. But otherwise the wrestler has been making bigger moves on social by taking selfies with cops pulling him over, arguing wth fans over whether or not he had been dishonorably discharged from the United States Marines, and infamously waging internet war on the Latino Ms. Piggy tweets who was allegedly stalking Randy Orton’s girlfriend Kim Marie .
Now that Brock Lesnar is the new WWE Heavyweight Champion Orton is trying to remind the world that he’s still around. Over on Twitter he even claimed he was “owed” a title match by re-tweeting the following comment from a fan:
“Are we suppose to forget @RandyOrton is owed a one on one rematch back since #WrestleMania #wwe #The Viper”
Unfortunately for Orton, he may need to get in line. First off, Brock is taking on John Cena again for Night Of Champions and it seems Lesnar’s WWE schedule is going to be quite limited in the foreseeable future. There’s even the possibility that Lesnar will hold on to the WWE title belt until WrestleMania 31 , and the current rumor suggests the featured title match will be Brock Lesnar Vs. Roman Reigns , not versus Randy Orton.
Still, unless the WWE management really does not mind violating the 30 day title challenge rule they may end up sticking Orton in the schedule just so the action does not become too repetitive. Creative may seem to be stuck in copy and paste mode lately and it’s even rumored that Vince McMahon and Triple H are arguing over what to do about Lesnar exactly. Paul Levesque is pushing the Reigns angle while McMahon supposedly wants to bring back The Rock for a future title fight.
Do you you think Randy Orton should be given a shot at Brock Lesnar for the WWE Heavyweight Championship title belt?
