Meryl Davis Nominates Maks, Val Chmerkovskiy For Ice Bucket Challenge [Video]

Meryl Davis nominated Maks Chmerkovskiy and his brother, Val Chmerkovskiy, for the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge. The Olympic figure skater joined forces with actress Danica McKellar to complete the challenge after being nominated by fellow Dancing With The Stars contestants, Amy Purdy and Candace Cameron Bure. The girls posted their video on Instagram in two parts, and they called out their dance partners from Season 18.

In the video, Danica starts off by saying, “We accept Candace and Amy’s Ice Bucket Challenge,” and Meryl adds, “And we challenge Maks and Val… because beer in the Pacific?” And the girls say together, “doesn’t count!” Of course this was their way of calling out Val, who dumped a beer on his head before jumping into the ocean.

Meryl Davis and Danica McKeller seemed to be having a bit of fun with their former dance pro partners which, of course, made all of those dating rumors resurface. According to Bustle, the videos and challenges were proof that Maks and Meryl were still a “thing” — or that they could be something at some point. It does seem, however, that the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge made its way around the Dancing With The Stars family, so seeing Meryl and Danica call out their “teachers” isn’t all that surprising.

Everyone pretty much knows that Maks and Meryl are still great friends, and that the two correspond with each other frequently. This doesn’t mean that they are romantically involved, it just means that they built a great friendship. Lately, Meryl seems to have Maks on her mind, however, ever since their breakfast date earlier this month. As previously reported by The Inquisitr, the two posted a selfie after their morning “date” and that had people talking too.

On Wednesday, Meryl Davis posted the funny photo below with the caption, “When someone told us it’s been 3 months since #dwts18.”

It’s clear that Maks and Meryl can laugh at each other — and with each other — which is a sign of a great friendship. As far as a romance brewing, the two still say that they aren’t a couple. Fans wish that would change, but right now, it is what it is. They clearly love each other, and they have a ton of fun when they are together, but they just aren’t taking it to the next level… yet.
