Julianne Hough: Erin Andrews’ ‘Excited’ About Dancer’s Return To ‘Dancing With The Stars’

Julianne Hough is reportedly headed back to Dancing with the Stars a judge, as we previously reported. One person who is understandably thrilled about Hough’s return to the small screen is co-host Erin Andrews.

As you probably know, Julianne previously appeared on DWTS as a dancer. After bidding farewell to that particular stage of her career, Hough recently decided to head back to the televised competition. Instead of dancing, Julianne will pass judgment on her fellow performers and the celebrities looking to cut the proverbial rug.

According to The Associated Press, Erin Andrews is pretty pumped that Julianne Hough is coming back to Dancing with the Stars. During her chat with FOX 411, Andrews said Hough and her brother, Derek, were very instrumental in making the television show a hit.

Andrews said of Hough’s return:

“I loved having Julianne. She came on the season when I was on, and she was great. The Houghs really put ‘DWTS’ on the map. Derek’s amazing. Julianne is a sick dancer. Any way that they can make the show better and more exciting for the fans is amazing.”

People reports that Julianne Hough will serve as the fourth judge on the upcoming season of Dancing with the Stars. Hough will carry a paddle alongside Carrie Ann Inaba, Len Goodman, and Bruno Tonioli when the show finally returns.

The dancer said in a recent statement:

“My role is to encourage and be supportive, and to also be candid and honest and try not to beat around the bush, to be too politically correct. I want to give critiques so they can improve. I’m not there to be harsh or cause a controversy. I won’t be mean or malicious. That’s not who I am. That’s not my role at all.”

Hough continued:

“After being on tour with my brother, it felt like time to move on. I felt like I really reconnected with fans, and the people have supported me since day one. They have followed me from ‘Dancing with the Stars’ to my other aspirations. It just feels like the perfect time to reconnect and be a part of where it all began, with my family.”

Although we know Julianne Hough is heading back to DWTS, we still don’t know which celebrities will take part in the next installment of the series. According to ABC News, Good Morning America will announce the cast on September 4. Tune in if you’re at all curious about which “stars” are signing on this season.
