Taylor Swift Addresses Boyfriend Gossip, ‘Shakes It Off’ In New Single [Video]
Taylor Swift has just released a new song — and it’s not country! The star took her game to a whole ‘nother level with the single Shake It Off in which she sings about her life, the gossip, and the haters. According to Hollywood Life, Swift also announced the title of her new album — 1989— and she revealed the cover artwork as well. The significance of the album? Well it was named for the year of Swift’s birth, of course. The 24-year-old also announced that the album will be released on October 27.

Swift fans are so excited about the new album, and many are already loving her latest single, which is very catchy and more pop than anything she’s ever done before.
Taylor Swift took on her haters and the never-ending gossip about her life in the new song, which is already getting some really positive feedback. Her lyrics specifically reference the gossip surrounding her dating life, because Swift has dated quite a few guys, but none of her relationships have really worked out.
“I stay up too late / Got nothing in my brain / That’s what people say / That’s what people say / I go on too many dates / But I can’t make them stay.”
Swift says that haters can hate and players can play, but she is just going to do her own thing and “shake it off.”
“Cause the players gonna play, play, play / And the haters gonna hate, hate, hate / Baby I’m just gonna shake, shake, shake / Shake it off. Shake it off.”
USA Today has put together some pretty great GIFs of Swift’s new video. The blonde beauty takes on quite a few different personas in the music video, channeling Lady Gaga, Katy Perry, and even Miley Cyrus (there appears to be some twerking going on). And it looks like Taylor had a great time filming!
In other Taylor Swift news, the songstress recently made a joke about her ex-boyfriends while presenting an award at the Teen Choice Awards on August 10. According to The Inquisitr, Swift said that she knew plenty of “dramatic males” while presenting the award for Choice Male in a Drama. The joke went over extremely well and even made headlines on the internet the next day.
Regardless, it seems like going on too many dates with dramatic males is turning out to be quite rewarding for Swift in the old career department. What do you think of her new song?
