WWE News: Backstage Update On Brock Lesnar’s Insult Towards Hulk Hogan

In case you missed it, WWE superstar Brock Lesnar annihilated John Cena at SummerSlam last night to become the WWE World Heavyweight champion. Last night marked his first WWE championship reign since 2004. The beating was so bad last night that Cena took 16 German suplexes and was eventually booed out of the building when the show was over.

Chants included, “Thank You Lesnar” and “Na, Na, Na, Na. Hey, Hey, Goodbye,” and culminated with the uproar of approval when Lesnar pinned the 15-time WWE champion. Most fans that fall into the 6-14 age demographic expected Cena to kick out at two. However, WWE finally let the beast do what he does best.

Normally, Paul Heyman does the talking for Lesnar. However, on Monday Night Raw last week, the WWE World Heavyweight champion took it upon himself to add a little spice to Hulk Hogan’s birthday celebration.

As seen in the Hulk Hogan birthday celebration during last week’s WWE RAW, Brock Lesnar crashed the party and told Hogan to his face, “Party’s over grandpa.”

That line from Lesnar to Hogan was not in the script and was something that Lesnar came with on his own, possibly with assistance from Heyman.

The report also says that Hogan appeared on the “Kevin and Beane” show to promote SummerSlam and praised Cena, as well as picking him to be victorious against Lesnar. Along with wanting Cena to win, Hogan cut a promo wanting to face Lesnar for the WWE World Heavyweight title. The Immortal one wants to come back for one more match.

Lesnar should be allowed to speak from time-to-time, because his promo ability isn’t as bad as people tend to think. That line, “Party’s over grandpa,” was perfect and fans raved about it online. The fact it was off-script made it even better. His pre-recorded interview that was used as the Cena vs. Lesnar promo video sold the match very well. Hats off to WWE’s production department for this piece of gold.

None of that was scripted before it was recorded. There wasn’t a teleprompter in front of Lesnar as he was speaking. That was all his own words and the WWE had to blue some words out, but the message was still given to the proper audience. Cena added a great deal to the WWE promo as well, but Lesnar is the one who sold SummerSlam.

I wouldn’t be surprised that Hogan has backstage heat with Lesnar. According to the theories, nobody can hate Cena or Hogan. They are the two golden boys of the WWE. However, Lesnar isn’t one to care about what the WWE wants and doesn’t want. He’s truly a beast.

As of this report, no backstage heat exists. Then again, anything can change in the WWE Universe. Lesnar is the man now and while few fans agree with it, the status quo won’t change for quite some time.
