Pretty Little Liars Season 5 Spoilers – More Shock And Intrigue Promised
Last week’s episode of Pretty Little Liars gave viewers a little taste of big sister Melissa Hastings finally admitting to some of the more dark and shady activities she’s been engaged in. Questions about what, exactly, Melissa Hastings whispered to her father at the police station during the last season’s finale will be answered during this week’s episode. It seems as though it may finally be time for all of Melissa’s secrets to come to light…and, knowing how Pretty Little Liars operates, you can bet the secrets will be even more twisted and dark than what you may already think.
After all, secrets are what the Liars do best.
But don’t get too comfortable – Melissa’s big secret is not the surprise that ends this season. Show producers promise that there is an even bigger surprise coming in the finale, which they have tagged as #FatalFinale, leaving many viewers wondering which Liar may die this season.
But as for this week’s episode of Pretty Little Liars, as always, the previews promise to build upon the huge labyrinth of secrets that the show is known for. This episode begins where the last episode ended – with the Liars still in agreement that they need to go to Lieutenant Tanner and tell her that Ali faked being kidnapped.
According to an interview executive producer and writer of this week’s episode Joseph Dougherty gave to Entertainment Weekly, a big reveal is coming, one that will change the very fabric of the show and shake up what viewers may think they know about the characters. According to Dougherty, this week’s episode will “permanently and definitively answer a question about what happened the night Ali disappeared, the first night that started everything.”
What happened to Caleb in Ravenswood will also get addressed. Since the spin-off of Pretty Little Liars was cancelled after just one season, the writers have been trying to find a way to tell viewers what, exactly, happened to Caleb during his stay there. As Dougherty said, “Ever since the fates conspired against us, we’ve been looking for a way to satisfactorily tell people what did happen.” He added: “And I think the key to Caleb moving on in Rosewood is that he has to share some more, particularly with Hanna, about what happened after that last episode of Ravenswood.” He also added a brief tease about some of the characters from Ravenswood appearing on Pretty Little Liars sometime in the near future.
And although there will not be the traditional Halloween episode, viewers can anticipate a Pretty Little Liars Christmas episode, titled “How the ‘A’ Stole Christmas.”
Will you be tuning in to this week’s episode? And do you think any questions will be answered…or will those answers just lead to more questions, as is so often the case with Pretty Little Liars?
