Kaley Cuoco-Sweeting Completes ALS Ice Bucket Challenge [Video]
Kaley Cuoco-Sweeting completed the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge, which started in New England and has made its way to Hollywood! The Big Bang Theory actress followed all the rules after she was nominated (though it’s unclear who actually nominated her), called out a couple of friends, and then had someone dump a bucket of ice water over her head in an effort to raise awareness for ALS (also known as Lou Gehrig’s’ disease). Kaley posted the video on her Instagram account on Sunday afternoon.
The ALS Ice Bucket Challenge was started by Peter Frates, a 29-year-old former Boston College baseball player who was diagnosed with the debilitating disease two years ago. Frates posted his ice bucket video on July 31, and since then, thousands of people have not only participated, but raised over $10 million dollars (via ALSA.org).
Kaley Cuoco-Sweeting is just one of the many celebrities who have completed the challenge. While things started in Massachusetts, the videos have taken over Facebook feeds across the country. All kinds of celebrities have gotten involved too, which is helping spread the word and raise awareness even more.
While the “rules” of the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge tend to vary depending on who you ask, most people have been donating and completing the challenge, which is really the ultimate goal. This is how it works: Once you are nominated, you have 24 hours to complete the challenge. Said challenge involves you, a video recording device, a bucket, some ice, and at least $10. The money, of course, should be donated to an ALS charity of your choice (either Pete Frates, ALSA.org or one of your own choosing).
While recording, you should state your name, say who nominated you, and choose three or four people to nominate after you. Next, you put ice in a bucket of water and dump the whole thing over your head. The people you nominated then have 24 hours to complete the challenge or they have to donate $100 to ALS.
Kaley Cuoco-Sweeting did a pretty good job in her Ice Bucket video, which you can check out below.
In other Kaley news, the actress recently posted a video of her and the cast of The Big Bang Theory back on set. As previously reported by The Inquisitr, the group started filming the new season of the popular show last week after months of contract negotiations. The lead actors, including Cuoco, are said to be getting $1 million per episode. That said, you can bet that Kaley was able to make a nice donation to ALS along with her Ice Bucket Challenge completion.
