NY Subway Stabbing: 38-Year-Old Stabs Three Men, Leaves One Critically Injured
A NY subway stabbing left three men wounded this weekend. According to The SpreadIt, Ivan DeLeon, 38, was at Grand Central Terminal on Saturday, getting off a train. Whilst doing so, he accidentally bumped into a child who was boarding. The child’s father began arguing with DeLeon, and things escalated fairly quickly.
DeLeon stabbed the child’s father in the chest. Two other men were also injured during the altercation, both of them stabbed by DeLeon. The 8-year-old child was not injured.
“The three victims were taken to Bellevue Hospital. The father was listed in critical but stable condition. The other two men were treated for minor injuries and later released. Mr DeLeon who was heavily intoxicated was taken to the New York Presbyterian Hospital for detoxification.”
The NY subway stabbing left DeLeon charged with assault, menacing, and criminal possession of a weapon. DeLeon does not have a criminal record, and it’s unknown why he was carrying a knife around with him or were he got it. According to MyFoxNY, it was unclear if DeLeon had obtained a lawyer. It seems clear that he overreacted, perhaps due to the fact that he was intoxicated, but that’s not any excuse for that kind of behavior.
It’s unknown how steep of a punishment DeLeon will be given, but there is a good chance that he will be spending time behind bars. It’s unknown whether or not he had a family of his own.
The NY subway stabbing details were a bit sparse. It is presumed that things got physical before DeLeon whipped out his knife and started stabbing people, but it’s unknown who started getting physical first. There is a slight chance that DeLeon could argue that he was defending himself, but since he was drunk, that excuse might not hold up in court.
Another stabbing made headline news last week, one that resulted in the death of four people and a dog. As previously reported by The Inquisitr, Nicolas Holzer of Goleta, California, stabbed his elderly father, his two young sons, his mother, and their dog. While a motive was unclear, Holzer told police that killing his family was his “destiny.” He also called 911 himself, and spoke calmly to the dispatcher after he had committed the heinous crimes. He didn’t fight with police when they showed up at the crime scene, and he explained the whole situation without any fuss.
