Jared Leto Admits He Still Hasn’t Watched ‘Dallas Buyers Club’

Jared Leto, the Hollywood Hunk turned rock star, shared a shocking detail at Thursday’s TimesTalks interview: he hasn’t watched Dallas Buyers Club, the film that won him an Oscar!

“I can’t hear that voice! I’ve never really heard very much of it and I’ve never watched the film,” Jared said during the interview when the interviewer played a clip. “I will watch it at some point, I’m sure. But too soon!” Why the wait? Jared explains:

“It can never live up to the expectations I would have of it now, because it was such a beautiful experience and the response that it got was really wonderful.”

Seems odd for the man that won his first Academy Award for the role! Jared gave a memorable acceptance speech for his best supporting actor role, and opened up at the TimesTalks about being on the Oscar stage:

“I remember standing there…and I’m like, ‘Holy, s–t! Okay! We’re here.’ I looked out and saw all these faces. It’s Meryl Streep, it’s Harrison Ford — it’s all these people. I knew that it was an incredible opportunity and I wanted to thank my brother and my mom. I knew I wanted to say something about this great big planet that we’ve had the privilege to travel around.”

Jared does seem to be enjoying the traveling part, as he and his band, 30 Seconds To Mars, have been traveling around Europe for a good bit of summer on their international Love, Lust, Faith and Dreams Tour. Jared and his bandmates recently returned back to the states to tour with Linkin Park on the Carnivores Tour. Then it’s back to Central and South America later this fall, before ending the tour-filled year in South Africa on November 23.

And Jared seems to be loving every second of it, as his Instagram is filled with behind-the-scenes tour pics and front-row shots of his shows. Perhaps maybe after the world tour, Jared will be able to fit in some time to finally watch Dallas Buyers Club?
