WWE News: Vince McMahon Has Soured On Bo Dallas, WWE Future In Doubt
Most of the WWE Universe has no real love for Bo Dallas. His character has never really taken off on the main roster. While it worked for the WWE’s more intimate NXT show, the WWE’s main shows such as RAW and SmackDown are far different. A character the likes of Bo Dallas has to take off there in order for him to workn — and he has sucked, truth be told.
The funny part is that his real-life brother, Bray Wyatt, has taken off far more than he did with NXT. Despite the fact he did well with NXT, it was not until his main roster period that he became a top tier name. Wyatt was known as Husky Harris beforehand, and went back down to developmental to be repackaged into the performer we know today as Bray Wyatt. That almost didn’t happen. He could have been let go before that repackaging took place, but the WWE thought he was better than the character they gave him before… they were right.
Dallas has been repackaged already. The Bo Dallas we see today is different from Dallas’ first run on the roster before he was ready, which is why we were given the guy we see today. It worked as an idea, and if performed well, it could have been good. However, Dallas’ look has been horrid. The way he has delivered the promos has not gone over with fans, and his wrestling has not been good for a second generation talent.
His finisher is a female finisher known as the Stratusfaction. He happens to call it the Bo-Dog. All of this rolled into one has made many people not care for Dallas. He found himself in a position that no wrestler wants, in that he has gotten little to no reaction at all. When you are neither cheered nor booed, you are doing something very wrong. This has happened with Bo very often.
It should come as no surprise that WWE Chairman Vince McMahon has soured on Dallas due to all of this. He was a big fan originally, but after some time he realized what many fans have all along: Bo needs to go. WWE officials have reportedly given up on trying to make the Bo Dallas character work, and that is never a good thing.
This is why R-Truth recently beat the vaunted undefeated streak of Dallas recently. It’s also why he seems to be off some shows and/or given small periods of time.
Most feel that WWE has a few options when it comes to Dallas. He is young and second generation, so he has this business in his blood. One more opportunity to change up his character or improve it could be given. WWE could also give him a chance in his brother’s stable, the Wyatt Family. It would make sense for him to be there in a role that Owen Hart had in the Hart Foundation. When he is ready to move out of this area, WWE could do it and then a good rivalry could come from it. In the meantime, he would be behind his older brother and learn as well as stay relevant. It’s either this, or release him.
If WWE lets him go, it would suck for Dallas, obviously. However, most feel that WWE might at least try to see what he can do in the Wyatt Family. This has led some to speculate that Dallas might get involved in the Bray Wyatt/Chris Jericho match this Sunday at SummerSlam. Due to the fact that current members Luke Harper and Erick Rowan are banned from ringside, the heel Wyatt would potentially have a need for his real-life brother to interfere and help him win the match against Jericho.
Whether this happens or not is up in the air. The WWE clearly has options, and in the middle of this budget cut Dallas’ future is not certain. WWE could easily cut him. They may have already done so in the past if he was not the son of WWE Legend IRS. That being said, expect him to stay with WWE but be on a very short leash. Also, do not be surprised if the Wyatt Family has a new member come SummerSlam. After all, all Wyatt has to do is BoLieve.
