Terrell Owens Says He Can ‘Absolutely’ Still Play Football: ‘I Haven’t Retired’
Back in 2013, The Inquisitr reported that six-time Pro Bowl wide receiver Terrell Owens would retire from football if he couldn’t find a team that would sign him that year. Owens was cut by the Seattle Seahawks three weeks into the training camp for the 2012 season, and has not played a game since his time with the Cincinnati Bengals in 2010, where he caught 72 passes for 983 yards and nine touchdowns.
However, the 40-year-old Owens believes he can “absolutely” still play, according to a report from ESPN Dallas.
“What kind of question is that?” he asked reporter Tim MacMahaon.
Terrell Owens said he is still “looking good,” and his return to the NFL is “all in God’s hands.”
“I haven’t ruled it out,” he said. “I haven’t retired. I’ve kept myself in good enough shape to go in and help somebody if need be.”
Owens mentioned that he is currently busy with “some acting stuff” and “some business stuff.” One of the things is a guest appearance on the Fox series Brooklyn Nine-Nine.
According to a report from UPI, Terrell Owens will appear in an episode that has a football game in which the NYPD and FDNY play each other. Owens will be on the FDNY team.

In the 15 years he played, Owens caught 153 touchdown passes, ranking him third in NFL history. He is ranked second in receiving yards with 15,934 in total. Along with the Bengals, Owens was also a member of the San Francisco 49ers, Philadelphia Eagles, Dallas Cowboys, and Buffalo Bills.
His induction into the NFL Hall of Fame may come soon, but he’s “not really tripping on it.”
“If it happens, it happens,” he added. “I know there are a lot of components to getting in the Hall of Fame.”
Terrell Owens mentioned that his performance “on the field speaks for itself.”
“I think my numbers speak volumes,” he said.
Terrell Owens was at the River Ridge practice fields on Thursday having a chat with Cowboys owner Jerry Jones, head coach Jason Garrett, some of the teams staff members, and various players. It was his first conversation with Jones since the team cut him in 2008.
Owens was essentially cut from the Cowboys because of the bad relationships he had with Garrett, offensive coordinator at the time, and quarterback Tony Romo. But he assured that he is not upset over the past ordeal.
“Hey, it is what it is,” Owens said. “I can’t really say too much about that.”
Owens added that when he was with the team, he “came with 100 percent” during practice, and he “played with 100 percent” during games.
“I have no regrets,” he said.
Terrell Owens had 38 touchdowns and 3,857 receiving yards during his career with the Cowboys. He mentioned that he was thankful for the “opportunity” that Jones gave him after the Eagles released him.
“I played three years here and had some great times, made the most of it, I feel like,” Owens said.
Do you think Terrell Owens can still play football?
