Calvin Harris Publicly Dumps Rita Ora With An Emoji

The Inquisitr has been keeping up with every ugly turn of Calvin Harris’ relationship and eventual breakup with Rita Ora, including Rita’s supposed desire to get him back. Rumors that Calvin Harris was seeing Ellie Goulding on the side were set straight, but that doesn’t mean Calvin has been a complete gentlemen during his split from Rita Ora. It seems Calvin still holds some kind of spite or resentment for Rita, or so his Twitter feed would have us believe.

According to The Guardian, after Rita complained about Calvin on Twitter, he replied with nothing but an emoji waving goodbye. We have to assume this means Calvin has made the final word–they’re not getting back together. Of course, the dispute between Harris and Ora is more complicated than that, and Calvin’s behavior toward her gets even more passive aggressive. Perez Hilton reported that Calvin Harris actually used his celebrity powers to cancel Rita Ora’s performance at the Teen Choice Awards. Rita had planned to perform her song “I Will Never Let You Down,” but Calvin had other plans. Rita explained on the radio:

“For anybody who doesn’t understand how it works, he wrote and produced the song,” said Rita. “So he has to approve anything TV-wise for anybody who doesn’t get it. And obviously he owns the rights to it and he didn’t approve the Teen Choice Awards.”

It shouldn’t be a big surprise that Calvin Harris has the power to pull a stunt like this; he was ranked one of the most powerful celebrities this year. And if you think Calvin’s cancellation was just an incident of bad timing, think again. Rita Ora wasn’t informed that her performance was cancelled until the last minute, which is a pretty clear indication that her ex did it to mess with her.

“I could have got told a few weeks earlier, you know,” said Rita. “That would have been nice. It was a last minute change, but you know what, it happens and we move on and move forward … It is what it is, man. You know, you write a song with somebody, and I guess there’s some stuff that comes with it … Everything happens for a reason, that’s how I look at it.”

And when Rita Ora spoke out about this sneaky move on her Twitter page, Calvin Harris responded with a single emoji telling her “bye!” Rita’s tweet seems to have since been deleted, but Calvin’s response is still up.
