Demi Lovato Gripes About Selena Gomez & Justin Bieber, Reveals Reason For Gomez Twitter Unfollow

“People change and people grow apart,” Demi Lovato tells Andy Cohen on Watch What Happens Live.

Remember back in July when Demi Lovato unfollowed former close friend Selena Gomez on Twitter?

Fans did, and they also noticed a photo message allegedly tweeted by the “Heart Attack” star the same day, which read: “Swimming away from the bullsh– bye bitch.”

Everyone went nuts. There were rumors that the pair, who have been friends since their Barney & Friends days in 2002, fell out over Selena’s on-off boyfriend Justin Bieber.

Some gossip sites speculated that Demi — who used to be a cocaine addict until she went to rehab in 2010 — had issues with Selena’s alleged drug use.

With Selena and Demi keeping schtum, we needed answers. Host Andy Cohen of Watch What Happens Live heard that collective call.

Fast forward to Thursday, as is tradition, Lovato played “Plead the Fifth” and was given three questions by Andy Cohen, with the option to not answer just one.

It kicked off with Andy asking Demi who she would “Shag, Marry or Kill,” out of Joe Jonas, Justin Bieber or Simon Cowell.

“I’d kill Bieber. I’d kill Simon. F–k, I’d kill Joe, too!” Lovato said, perhaps too vehemently.

She then reconsidered over Jonas, saying: “No, Joe and I are good friends, so I wouldn’t kill him. I’d keep him around.”

Cleverly, Andy then rattled off a question he likely knew Demi would pass on. He asked her what was the most scandalous thing she’s ever seen a Disney channel star do.

Demi passed. That left one question that had to be answered.

“You recently unfollowed your BFF Selena Gomez on Twitter. So much speculation about this! Can you tell us why?” Andy asked, unleashing the killer question.

Demi answered: “I plead the sixth, if that’s in the game,” but Cohen pressed, “Are people reading too much into it? Are they reading into something that doesn’t exist?”

To which, the newly VMA nominated singer replied, evenly.

“I think it’s just one of those things where people change and people grow apart.”

However, readers, when you watch the clip of Demi answering the question, from her facial expressions you can tell that something else went on between her and Selena.

Earlier this year, Demi and Selena seemed to be getting on well when they were spotted out for dinner in the first week of January, just before the “Come and Get It” star went to rehab. They were also seen together shortly after Bieber’s arrest in Miami that same month, with Lovato seemingly tweeting a supportive message about Gomez’s rehab stint in February.

But, there have been issues in the pair’s relationship before. Demi previously talked about it on “Live From MTV.”

Of Selena, Demi said: “We’ve been through a lot together, we’ve had periods of times we here we grew apart and we just didn’t really talk.”

She added: “Now we are in a place where I think we realized that life is so short and that when you have people in your life that love you so much then, you should just always be around them… she has a great soul, she’s talented, she’s beautiful, and she will always be really, really close to my heart.”

Not any more she isn’t. Demi not only royally dissed Gomez on the show, she dissed Bieber.

So there’s no going back.

But it seems the real truth behind why Demi is no longer pals with Selena, or unfollowed her on Twitter will be a secret only the two girls themselves know.
