Savannah Guthrie ‘Can’t Stop Thanking God’ For Baby Vale

Savannah Guthrie shared more pictures of baby Vale with Today Show fans on Friday, gushing over her new baby girl from her hospital bed. Talking by phone to co-hosts Matt Lauer and Natalie Morales, the new mom was overjoyed to talk about the birth of her first child.

“I feel like life just started. I just can’t get over the joy she brings — it’s beyond words. The moment she was born I cried. I look at her so proud and I can’t stop thanking God.”

Guthrie, 42, and her husband, Michael Feldman, welcomed their daughter into the world on August 14, breaking the good news on Twitter. Vale Guthrie Feldman, weighing in a 8 pounds 5 ounces, became an instant star on Twitter when Savannah sent out her first tweet about the new arrival.

Motherhood definitely suits Savannah Guthrie, who looked fabulous the morning after Vale’s birth. Photos show a glowing Mom, dressed in a soft, gray robe, holding her very content daughter in her arms. During her phone conversation on Today, she confessed that she is a “big ball of mush” around Vale and had trouble sleeping because she was so excited.

“I couldn’t sleep because I was so excited so they actually had to give me a little sleeping medicine. Vale slept like the little angel baby she is.”

Her Today Show co-hosts gushed about the chubby-cheeked baby on air, and then stopped by to visit the new family at a New York hospital. Matt Lauer and Natalie Morales shared a photo on Twitter of their meet and greet with the morning show’s newest celebrity, baby Vale.

Savannah Guthrie and her husband, Michael Feldman, 45, married on March 15 and announced that they were expecting their first child during the reception. Fans of the Today Show anxiously awaited news of the new baby’s arrival after she started her maternity leave on August 11 and sent thousands of tweets to the new parents when Vale arrived on Thursday.
