Nina Dobrev: Actress Responds To ‘Five Boyfriends’ Rumors In The Funniest Way Possible
Nina Dobrev decided to have fun with it all. Instead of lashing out on fans and haters who have been relentlessly gossiping about her alleged romantic relationships on social media, the Vampire Diaries actress took it to the Teen’s Choice Awards to mock the boyfriend rumors that have been making their rounds on the Hollywood street for the past few weeks.
The actress sketched up a well-crafted plan to dismiss the rumors once and for all. Dobrev and Expendables 3 actor Kellan Lutz, both co-presenters at Teen’s Choice, put on a little skit that made fans uncomfortable at first, but then roaring in laughter later.
Lutz acted as if he felt awkward and hesitant to present beside Nina Dobrev as they presented the Choice Movie Actress: Action/Adventure award. Inching himself away from Nina, the actress notices and confronts the actor about it. Answering why he was distancing himself from Dobrev, Kellan replied that he didn’t want fans to think he was Nina’s newest boyfriend.
“Look, look, Nina. I hear you’re dating five guys right now. And even though I’m in Expendable, and I can take four guys at once…five, that’s pushing.”
Nina Dobrev joined in on the fun and tried but failed to touch the actor, who in a fit of pretend paranoia, responded by shouting “Five foot radius! Five foot radius!”
The skit mocked the undying rumors about Dobrev and the more or less five guys currently being linked to her as of the moment. Ever since Dobrev ended things with Ian Somerhalder last year, fans have been throwing in popular guy names all around town, hoping that one of them matches up.
But dismissing the rumors doesn’t mean Nina doesn’t really want a new boyfriend. In a recent interview with HuffPost, Nina Dobrev revealed that she wanted to have a “steady boyfriend” just so the rumors would stop already
“I laugh at it at this point. Honestly, I need to get, like, a steady boyfriend so people can stop speculating.”
Even friends are beginning to ask about her love life, according to a recent Inquisitr report. However, Nina still manages to respond with wit and class despite the numerous stories about her current romance.
“When you start getting text messages from your friend with a link to something and they’ll be like, ‘Oh my God, are you really dating this person?’ And I’ll be like, ‘Yeah, I talked to them last night for a second,’ or ‘Yeah, I saw them at this party.’ And especially after Comic-Con, apparently I was ‘dating’ like ten people. So I had a real busy weekend!”
Some of the popular guys that had been linked to Nina Dobrev are actors Orlando Bloom, Ben Mackenzie and musician Dominic Howard.
