Enrique Iglesias Hits The Road With Frequent Collaborator Pitbull
Enrique Iglesias is hitting the road for the second time with collaborator and Latin star Pitbull. The musical pairing announced that they were expanding their small national tour to 24 dates.
According to Billboard, Enrique Iglesias and Pitbull will start their tour on September 12 at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey. The tour runs through to October 28 and will end with their show at Amway Center in Orlando, Florida.
When Enrique Iglesias first announced they would team up for a tour, it was back in April at a conference for Billboard Latin Music. At the time, he mentioned Colombian star J. Balvin, who would be opening up for the duo.
Iglesias and Pitbull have had a few top-charting hits together. Their songs include “I’m a Freak” “I Like It” and “Let Me Be Your Lover.” The artists are both very successful on their own too and have enjoyed success collaborations with other artists. Iglesias’ current single “Bailando” is climbing the charts. Additionally Pitbull’s “Fireball” is the first single off of his album Globalization which is yet to be released.
This isn’t the only time the pair has toured together. They enjoyed a successful tour in 2011 with Latin stat Prince Royce.
Back in March, Iglesias spoke about his album Sex and Love on the Today show. At the time, the artist said:
“It’s pretty straight forward. When you turn on the radio a lot of it is inspired by sex and love. This is what it’s about. It’s straight to the point.”
Of his tenth album, which just happens to be bilingual he said:
“Some songs were meant to be sang in Spanish and some songs are meant to be sang in English. There are songs that don’t translate no matter how many times you try it. I grew up speaking Spanglish.”
Enrique’s album features collaborations by prominent figures in the Latin community like Jennifer Lopez, Flo Rida, Yandel, Gente de Zona, and more.
Billboard has a full listing of tour dates for anyone who wants to track the two stars.
