Kaley Cuoco-Sweeting Posts Video Of ‘Big Bang Theory’ Cast Back At Work
Kaley Cuoco-Sweeting and the rest of The Big Bang Theory cast (yes, all of them) are officially back on set to film the new season of the show. On August 12, all of your favorites got together for their first day of shooting following very long contract negotiations that had some wondering if the show would even go on. Cuoco-Sweeting (who plays Penny) posted a video on her Instagram account, capturing the cast getting ready to head out on set. In the background, you can hear the loud cheers of the studio audience. You can only imagine the huge welcome that the actors received last night!
Kaley Cuoco-Sweeting, Jim Parsons, Johnny Galecki, Simon Helberg, Kunal Nayyar, Mayim Bialik, and Melissa Rauch can all be seen in the video above. That means, of course, that the whole cast is back for Season 8 — and that everyone has reached contract deals.
There were some rumors that Helberg and Nayyar quit The Big Bang Theory when they didn’t get a pay raise as big as their co-stars, but as you can clearly see, that’s not the case. According to Classicalite, there was turmoil brewing between some of the cast members since Cuoco, Parsons, and Galecki got huge pay raises, but the other cast members didn’t really come close with their contracts. However, it looks like each and every one of them is happy to be back, working on a show that they all clearly love.
According to The Inquisitr, Kaley Cuoco-Sweeting, Jim Parsons, and Johnny Galecki all got sweet pay raises for the next couple of seasons of the show. The three actors will be working for $1 million an episode… which is pretty huge, but not uncommon. Shows like Friends and The Sopranos have also paid their cast members well over the years. Good television also means good pay for those who help create it.
Regardless of whether or not you think that $1 million an episode is way too much money, The Big Bang Theory cast seems really content with where things are right now. And for fans? That’s really all that matters. The show that so many have come to love is going to be on the air for at least a couple of more seasons, and the ratings keep going higher. It’s really a win/win for everyone involved.
Kaley Cuoco-Sweeting, of course, is now on a career high. And she totally deserves it.
