Amy Smart, Carter Oosterhouse Wed in Private Michigan Ceremony
Congratulations are in order as actress Amy Smart and HGTV’s Carter Oosterhouse tied the knot this weekend in a private wedding ceremony in Carter’s hometown of Traverse City, Michigan.
Sources say 215 guests, comprised of the couple’s family and closest friends, attended the special event.
“We feel so excited and blessed to celebrate this happy day with our family and friends,” the newlyweds told US Weekly magazine.
Smart and Oosterhouse, both active environmentalists, reportedly met while attending a green charity event last November in which the two apparently had an “instant” connection. Following the event, the pair first made their romance public in January 2011 and were engaged soon thereafter in April.
“He’s an eco-carpenter; Amy drives a hybrid and is the greenest girl I know. They are perfect for each other,” a friend of the couple told US Weekly.
Carter,34, is a handyman best known for working on reality shows such as TLC’s Trading Spaces and Smart, 35, is best known for her roles in Varsity Blues, The Butterfly Effect with Ashton Kutcher and more recently Crank and Crank: High Voltage, where she plays the girlfriend of lead character Jason Statham.
