Jeff Bridges Montana Senator? Online Petition Wants ‘The Dude’ In Charge
Is Jeff Bridges the next Montana Senator? An online petition has been created to put “the dude” in charge after previous Senator candidate John Walsh dropped out of the race.
The Democratic nominee had been caught up in a plagiarism scandal over his Master’s Degree and resigned, as previously reported by The Inquisitr.
In case you don’t know who Jeff Bridges is, he was the actor who brought the original Tron to life, attempted to stop Tony Stark (Robert Downey, Jr.) in Iron Man, and stopped an Irish terrorist played by Tommy Lee Jones in Blown Away. The role that most of us remember him for was as “the dude” in The Big Lebowski, a cult classic comedy which has probably countless philosophical reports written on it.

While the son of the late Lloyd Bridges (Mafia, Hot Shots) agreed to be in Tron: Legacy twice (in person and as a CG model), he will “not abide” being the Senator of Montana.
Not even an online petition will see Jeff Bridges follow in the footsteps of Arnold Schwarzenegger and Jesse Ventura as the man representing his state in Congress. While Ronald Reagan beat them all stepping off the big screen into the White House as the President of the United States, Bridges has no plans to do anything but act, and perhaps dance with kids at a YMCA (see the video below).
While the social media mobs are still trying to get “the dude” in office, Bridges did apparently tell his wife Sue about his supposed nomination:
“I looked down and I see this thing, ‘Jeff Bridges for Senator,’ and I said, ‘What?’ … There’s a group of people that have called in and want me to run for senator of Montana, like 1,000 people”
His wife told him not to, much like the reason Liam Neeson wasn’t James Bond in the Brosnan era, as also reported by The Inquisitr.
While “the dude” is flattered that so many people want him as the Montana Senator, Jeff Bridges has officially declined the offer. It looks like we’ll just have to catch him in the movies as usual.
