Maroon 5: Is Adam Levine Serenading His New Wife In ‘It Was Always You’?
Maroon 5 is getting ready to release their newest album, and fans are wondering if their newest single, “It Was Always You” is a special song written about his new wife, Behati Prinsloo.
According to E! News, Maroon 5’s newest single, “It Was Always You” appears to be an ode to his new bride, Victoria’s Secret model, Behati Prinsloo. What’s giving Adam Levine away? His lyrics of course!
“Hazel eyes, I was so color blind/ Can’t believe I couldn’t not see it all this time, all this time/ It was always you.”
According to a previous report by The Inquisitr, Adam Levine and Behati Prinsloo officially tied the knot in mid-July during a ceremony at Flora Farms in Los Cabos, Mexico. The two reportedly exchanged their vows as almost 300 family members and friends watched on.
The Maroon 5 front man reportedly began seeing Behati Prinsloo in 2012 and confirmed their relationship when they began showing up to events together. Shortly before proposing to the Victoria’s Secret model, US Weekly cited an interview on The Tonight Show With Jay Leno in which Adam claimed he would never get married:
“Famous last words, ‘I’ll never get married. I still don’t necessarily think you have to get married unless you meet someone that makes you want to marry them. And then you marry them and it’s wonderful.”
Well, obviously Adam Levine found that someone special because he put a ring on Prinsloo, and if Maroon 5’s lyrics have anything to say about the relationship, Prinsloo is the woman Levine has been looking for “his whole life”:
“Hazel eyes, I was so color blind/ We were just wasting time/ For my whole life we never crossed the line/ Only friends in my mind/ But now I realize/ It was always you,” he sings.
While Maroon 5 has been playing around with their sound, Levine reportedly told MTV News that the band was going to bring their sound back to where it all began:
“There’s some stuff on our record that sounds a little like early Maroon 5, and then there’s some stuff that sounds like the newer direction that we went in,” Levine recently told MTV News. “I think that’s kind of the idea behind the album. It’s our fifth record. [Five] is literally part of our name. We thought we’d get back to certain elements that we’d been missing out on for a while with our original sound, but also bridge the gap with the new stuff that we’ve been doing. I think it’s an all-encompassing kind of record.”
So Maroon 5 fans, what do you think of the band’s new music? Do you think Behati Prinsloo was the muse behind “It Was Always You”? Make sure to check the album when it released in early September and let us know what you think!
