Robin Williams Has Three Kids: Last Instagram Picture Was ‘TBT’ Of Daughter Zelda
Robin Williams’ three kids are mourning the loss of their father. According to The Epoch Times, Williams has three children. Zachary “Zak” Pym is 30 and was Williams’ only child with Valerie Velardi, whom he was married to from 1977-1988. Williams married his second wife, Marsha Garces, in 1989 and they had two children together; Zelda Rae Williams, 25, and Cody Alan Williams, 23. Williams and Garces divorced in 2008.
Williams married Susan Schneider in 2010. According to People Magazine, Schneider released a statement following the death of her husband.
“This morning, I lost my husband and my best friend, while the world lost one of its most beloved artists and beautiful human beings. I am utterly heartbroken.”
Robin Williams was particularly close to his daughter, Zelda. In fact, the actor wished his baby girl a happy 25th birthday on Instagram two weeks ago. He posted the following message for his “TBT” (throwback Thursday).
“#tbt and Happy Birthday to Ms. Zelda Rae Williams! Quarter of a century old today but always my baby girl. Happy Birthday @zeldawilliams Love you!”
Zelda (who was reportedly named after the popular video game Legends Of Zelda) is an actress and was often spotted with her dad at various events from award shows to movie premieres. While less is known about Robin’s sons, especially the oldest one, it is believed that Robin has a relationship with all three of his kids. In the past, Robin has taken his children out to public events, and it seems like he really loved being a dad.
Several celebrities and friends of Robin Williams have been sharing their condolences on Twitter. According to this article by The Inquisitr, there have been several million tweets sent out about Williams after the news of his death broke. Comedians like Kevin Nealon and Ellen DeGeneres posted messages as did Robin’s longtime pal, Lance Armstrong.
Robin Williams’ kids have not released any kind of public statement. Zelda Williams is generally active on social media, but she has not tweeted anything about her dad’s passing. It goes without saying that this surprising news has completely blindsided Williams’ family. It’s going to take quite a bit of time for the Williams children to be okay.
Williams’ cause of death has not been confirmed, but the coroner’s office has said that the preliminary findings revealed that he died of asphyxia. It is believed that he committed suicide, and it sounds like it may have been by hanging. There are a few more tests to be conducted before the coroner will be able to piece everything together.
