David Duchovny And Gillian Anderson Dating? Rumors Fly After Duchovny’s Divorce Finalized
David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson had such amazing chemistry on The X-Files that many people believed they were romantically involved in real life, but now with the finalization of Duchovny’s divorce from Tea Leoni it may have finally come true.
Duchovny and Leoni have been separated for most of the last six years, but this week finally got around to making their divorce official. They married in 1997, but split up after Duchovny admitted he had a sex addiction and entered rehab in 2008.
They got back together later on, but split again in 2011.
Immediately after the split, rumors emerged that David Duchovny and his X-Files co-star Gillian Anderson were dating, but Duchovny denied the two were involved.
Neither Duchovny nor Anderson has confirmed the relationship, but witnesses saw Gillian leaving Duchovny’s apartment a few weeks ago. This unexpected visit came while Duchovny and Leoni were reportedly trying to reconcile, and the timing of their divorce suggests to many that Anderson and Duchovny may have been serious.
Anderson has addressed the rumor in an indirect way, admitting that they both had thought about a relationship.
“Well now that it is over I can tell you… No. It’s a nice idea, but it’s not going to happen. I think we know each other too well, we know each other better than our spouses at any time when we may have had spouses. There is an attraction… maybe even more than a [friend] attraction… but anyways.”
Gillian Anderson herself has been open about her relationship and private life — saying recently that she is bi-sexual — but has been quiet on details about recent sightings with Duchovny.
While the rumors about David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson continue, he and Tea Leoni have finalize the details of their split. The couple will share joint custody of their kids, aged 15 and 12, while Tea Leoni has primary physical custody. Duchovny will also pay $8,000 a month in child support and $40,000 a month in spousal support.
