‘Star Wars Episode VII’ 2015: Cast Member Daisy Ridley To Return For Episodes VIII, IX
Star Wars Episode VII cast member Daisy Ridley will not only grace the silver screen in 2015, she is set to return for the next installments in the saga, Episode VIII and Episode IX. One of the lesser known cast members is said to make an appearance in the entire trilogy.
The newest cast member is a virtual unknown now, but that won’t be the case after starring in three Star Wars movies. We expect that 2015 will be huge for Ridley and the rest of Star Wars Episode VII‘s newer stars, in a similar way to what happened to the actors in the original trilogy.
Harrison Ford (Han Solo), Mark Hamill (Luke Skywalker), and Carrie Fisher (Princess Leia) were in the same boat, prior to the 1977 launch of Star Wars: A New Hope, which propelled their careers to the next level. We expect the same to happen to all the new cast members chosen by J.J. Abrams to be part of Star Wars Episode VII.
Casting unknown actors for the leads is a practice started by George Lucas, and Abrams is obviously following in his footsteps. According to Deadline — which broke the story — Daisy Ridley and John Boyega are expected to share the protagonist roles when Star Wars Episode VII opens in 2015.
It is not clear what role Ridley will play, but we can assume the 22-year-old portrays one of the main characters if she is being asked to return to reprise her part. When the cast members were finally announced by Abrams and that, now famous, black and white photo of their first meeting was published, many suggested that Ridley could be Han and Leia’s daughter.
That talk seems to have died down, but the cast was seated in a circle which many thought to be hints of potential roles for the newbies. Daisy Ridley is the person seated next to Harrison Ford, talking to Carrie Fisher.
Later rumors suggest Daisy Ridley and John Boyega will lead the search efforts to find missing Jedi master, Luke Skywalker, after he goes into hiding following the defeat of his father, Darth Vader. If this is the case, and following her casting for Episode VIII and Episode IX, Ridley can expect great things in the years ahead.
We don’t know much about new Star Wars Episode VII cast member, Daisy Ridley, but 2015 will be a huge year for her career. Even though she has a very limited portfolio, J.J. Abrams was impressed enough to offer Ridley a main part in the much anticipated blockbuster.
