Beyoncé And Jay-Z Divorce Rumors: Under Siege Bey-Jay Retreats To Gwyneth Paltrow L.A. Mansion
Beyoncé Knowles and her husband Jay-Z, aka Shawn Carter, have been dogged by rumors of their impending divorce for their entire On The Run Tour. Now they are reportedly holed up in a $10.5 million mansion owned by their close friend Gwyneth Paltrow as they plot how to deal with the nonstop divorce talk.
The divorce rumors gained their unstoppable momentum in May, after video leaked showing Beyoncé’s sister, Solange Knowles, physically attacking Jay-Z in an elevator after the Met Gala in New York. Rumors swirled that Solange was defending her sister because she believed Jay-Z was cheating.
Beyoncé and Jay-Z completed the United States leg of their tour with a pair of shows at San Francisco’s AT&T Park on Tuesday and Wednesday of this week. Then, they flew to L.A. where according to The New York Post’s Page Six, they headed straight for the Brentwood estate owned by Iron Man leading lady Gwyneth Paltrow, whose own marriage to Coldplay crooner Chris Martin is in limbo.
Beyoncé earlier in the week posted a sullen Instagram photo against a background that media sources say closely resembles the interior of Paltrow’s extravagant Brentwood digs.
The music-biz mega-couple’s joint net worth has most recently been reported at a cool $1 billion, which makes Beyoncé and Jay-Z the wealthiest celebrity couple in the celebrity world — not counting celebrity women are married to billionaires who, while rich, are not themselves world-famous.
In other words, if Beyoncé and Jay-Z wanted to take a luxury hotel suite — or more likely, the top several floors of a luxury hotel, or even the entire hotel — their pocketbooks would barely register a dent. In fact, while in San Francisco, they took out the presidential suite at the St. Regis, a hotel considered the city’s finest, at a price tag of $30,000 per night.
In Los Angeles, on the other hand, they chose to hole up with Gwyneth Paltrow, whom Beyoncé once described as “incredible — a great friend on every level.”
For her part, Gwyneth Paltrow feels so close to the pop star power couple that she refers to Jay-Z as her son’s “Uncle Jay.”
By staying at Paltrow’s lavish mansion, Beyoncé and Jay-Z are able not only to assess the state of their marriage away from the glare of paparazzi flash bulbs, but also to scheme what to do about the divorce rumors they have steadfastly refused to even acknowledge.
Beyoncé and Jay-Z take their On The Run Tour to France on September 12 and 13, the only overseas dates on the tour which has reportedly grossed $100 millon.
