Now that The Big Bang Theory’s five leading cast members have each signed new deals to return to production on the hugely popular sitcom, rumors surrounding the upcoming new season have started to swirl.
In the final instalment to the show’s seventh season we saw each of the nerdy posse on the brink of life-changing decisions.
Leonard proposed to Penny and she accepted, while she also decided to give up on her dream of becoming an actress, Howard and Bernadette cared for his seldom-seen mother and even talked about having their own kid, Raj began a serious relationship with Emily, and Sheldon, having been confronted with a number of career and living issues, decided to leave Los Angeles on a train.
Speculation had previously suggested that Sheldon might not have actually boarded the train and instead he decided to stay in Pasadena, but TV Line have confirmed that Dr Cooper did actually get on the locomotive.
Now the big question is where did Sheldon go and what is his location for the first episode of the eighth season. However it sounds as if Sheldon might not have ever disembarked from the train at all.
According to TV Line , “The bigger question you should be asking yourself is whether he ever stepped foot outside the train during his epic journey.”
It looks as though, now that the cast have signed new contracts, that even Raj will finally find happiness too, as his relationship with Emily goes from strength to strength.
A couple of weeks back, Chuck Lorre, The Big Bang Theory’s co-creator and Executive Producer, also confirmed that Penny starts on a new career path after she decides to no longer pursue her ambition of being an actress.
“Penny has an interesting arc this year where she puts acting down,” Lorre told the Television Critics Association’s summer press tour . “She gets a shot to be a pharmaceutical rep at Bernadette’s company.”
“She’s going to start making some money, which will unbalance their relationship as the power shifts,” he continued. “She’s going to find some confidence and self-esteem, which acting does not provide in great heaping doses.”
Meanwhile Lorre also confirmed that Sheldon, Penny, Leonard, Bernadette, Amy and Raj will continue to evolve, just as they’ve done ever since the show began seven years ago: “These characters, as they grow, they deal with more things. Sheldon has grown unbelievably over seven years from where we began. We could never have imagined the stories we’ve been doing in the past year or so six years ago.”
