Jay Z & Beyonce Start Meeting With Lawyers As They Plan $1 Billion Divorce
Jay Z and Beyonce are moving forward with a divorce that is expected to involve a collective $1 billion fortune.
Sources this week claimed that Beyonce has been meeting with her team of lawyers to discuss the future of her assets. While this isn’t considered unusual for a star with a nine-figure net worth, the timing suggests that she is planning to protect her fortune in a divorce with Jay Z.
Experts say a divorce can be quite complicated and very costly for Jay Z and Beyonce.
“Combined they are very rapidly approaching the billion-dollar mark,” Zack Greenburg, senior editor at Forbes and also author of the book Empire State of Mind: How Jay Z went From Street Corner to Corner Office, tells E! News.
The couple has been inundated with divorce rumors since Beyonce’s sister Solange attacked Jay Z in an elevator following the Met Gala earlier this year. Sources say Solange was set off by Jay Z’s infidelity, which opened the door for a flood of other rumors of his cheating.
Sources now say the couple has begun living apart as they finish out their joint “On The Run” summer tour.
“There was no Jay Z in sight,” the source said of her apartment shopping.
To make matters worse, reported mistress Liv just released a track in which she calls out Beyonce and brags about sharing a special connection with Jay Z.
“I was gonna respect you, but since you crossed over into my lane, it’s time to check it. Your man? He likes model chicks. He likes all-naturally flawless model chicks like me,” Liv said at the beginning of the track.
But some sources still insist that Jay Z and Beyonce are not going to divorce. One source noted to Us Weekly that “hey have issues, like every other couple.”
