Ryan Reynolds Joins Two Films, Maybe ‘Deadpool,’ Maybe….Daddy?
Ryan Reynolds has a few new roles coming up. Daddy may be Reynolds’ role of a lifetime.
The former ‘Green Lantern’ star has been a confirmed add to the cast of Criminal, also starring Kevin Costner, Gary Oldman and Tommy Lee Jones, according to Entertainment Weekly. The film, directed by Ariel Vroman (The Iceman), centers around on an unpredictable prisoner who has the memories, secrets, and skills of a dead CIA operative implanted into his mind. Douglas Cook and David Weisberg wrote the script, reuniting them with Jones, the star of their 1999 film DoubleJeopardy.
Reynolds has also been cast in The Woman In Gold, alongside Helen Mirren and Daniel Bruhl, set for release in 2015. Mirren stars as real-life heroine Maria Altmann, a Jewish WWII survivor who fought the Austrian government to retrieve several paintings by Gustav Klimt that were stolen from her family during WWII. Reynolds is also in the running for portraying Marvel’s Deadpool, the “Merc With A Mouth,” for a possible Deadpool movie. Recently, a one minute and 48 second screen test showed a CGI Deadpool voiced by Reynolds. Channing Tatum and Sean William Scott are also being considered.
Reynolds is set to appear in the drama Mississippi Grind from writer/directors Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck (It’s Kind of a Funny Story), co-starring with Ben Mendelsohn as a pair of “oddball strangers” who are winding their way to New Orleans for poker tournament. The charismatic nomad Curtis (Reynolds) and down-on-his luck Gerry (Mendelsohn) pair up on an Iowa riverboat and set about on their trip to New Orleans. Mississippi Grind has no release date and also stars Sienna Miller, Analeigh Tipton, and Alfre Woodard.
According to Hollywood Life, however, Reynolds’ biggest role may just be a very special one; new father.
A new report reveals that Blake is already pregnant with her first baby. Blake, 25, has been hiding her body at recent public appearances, wearing long sweaters despite the sweltering heat. “She was rocking a little paunch — maybe the tiniest of baby bumps,” an onlooker at the July 9 New York City premiere for 36-year-old Reynold’s new movie Turbo, describes to OK magazine.
We’re convinced she’s just waiting to pass the first trimester before she makes an official announcement,” an insider tells OK magazine. “Blake’s usually a size 2 or 4 and loves to show off her body in fitted clothes, but now she is going for looser, more draped fits.”
Blake has also reportedly put a stop on absolutely all drinking.
“She enjoys a little champagne and red wine, but for the last couple weeks, it’s only been water,” the magazine’s insider explains.
Blake’s rep denies the news, calling it “untrue” in an official statement to Gossip Cop. Reynolds’ reps did not return calls.
