Dancing With The Stars’ Chaz Bono Tells Parents: Don’t Worry I’m Not Contagious
I’m really enjoying the circus that has become Dancing With The Stars since Chaz Bono was announced as the shows first transgender dancer. I should mention right off the bat that I’m a fan of having Chaz on the show, I find it refreshing to know that more boundaries are being broken everyday in our country, especially in places where they should have already been destroyed like Liberal leaning television.
With that being said, Chaz has a very important message for parents about the “family friendly” feel of the show and that message was delivered on Tuesday in it’s most basic terms, Bono is not in any way contagious. That’s right mom’s and dad’s of the world, your kid won’t decide they want to quite literally change teams if they watch Dancing With The Stars Season 13.
Speaking about the family appropriateness of the show he said:
“People who don’t have gender dysphoria aren’t going to catch it by watching me dance on television,” while he added, “I’m going to be dancing. I’m not up there talking about anything other than dancing.”
At the same time Chaz isn’t naive to the fact that his appearance could make all the difference in the life of a transgender boy or girl watching the show, telling Good Morning America:
“I know when I was growing up, if I had seen somebody like me on a show like this, it would’ve made all the difference in the world in my life.”
I honestly don’t get all the hate and outrage surrounding Chaz Bono’s part on the show, just let the guy dance and if you don’t like it keep your mouth shut and turn on the news instead, better yet, read more of my articles on The Inquisitr, I’m sure you’ll find plenty more subjects I support to yell at that are in the same vein, but don’t worry about me, If Chaz can take the verbal abuse for his decisions in life, I can take a few hundred negative comments about my support for LGBT individuals.
