Poor Alyson Hannigan experienced the moment many moms of small kids have to suffer through after struggling with post-pregnancy jigglies- except the star was forced to relive it in front of all of Twitter.
The How I Met Your Mother actress was at a festival with her family over the weekend when she was photographed looking ambiguously, possibly pregnant in an unposed photo. Hannigan, whose daughter Satyana turned two in March , was spotted and snapped at the Malibu Chili Cook Off and carnival with husband Alexis Denisof. Wearing jeans and a loose gray tee, its easy to see how the same unfortunate speculation Hannigan faced could have occurred for any woman with a small kid that doesn’t live at the gym.
After the pic began to circulate, Hannigan found herself defending her fashion choices and awkwardly having to explain the image to nosy press and curious Twitter followers. The actress sheepishly fired back:
“NO, I’m not pregnant! I just ate too much carnival food, that time of the month, hurt my back & couldn’t suck my gut in, & need 2 do cardio!”
However, Hannigan wasn’t rude or snippy about the assumption or mean to the bloggers that had speculated she could be pregnant. Instead, she added:
“I do LOOK pregnant in that photo! And I’m NEVER gonna wear that shirt again!!!”
Even after the possibly traumatic critique of her unposed, unsuspectingly photographed form, Hannigan was able to discuss the fun she and Denisof had with Satyana at the fair. She said that the little girl had won a goldfish, and that her daughter’s advanced ping-pong throwing skills put mommy’s “to shame.”
