Cristiano Ronaldo Manchester United Return: Striker Admits He Wants To Go Back To Red Devils
Cristiano Ronaldo has admitted that he wants to return to Manchester United in the future.
There’s no need for Real Madrid fans to worry, though, because the Portugese striker conceded that he is still very happy in the Spanish capital.
During a discussion with MUTV, Ronaldo, who left Old Trafford in 2009, admitted, “I love Manchester, to be back, I never know, you never know. Of course I’m happy at Real Madrid, it’s my home, it’s my club but Manchester treat me unbelievable so we never know.”
He then went on to note, “It was one of my favorite clubs, Manchester [United]. Everyone knows that every time when I speak about Real Madrid I should speak about Manchester United, I loved it here. I was 18 years old [when I joined], I won everything there, the people treat me like a god so I appreciate it, and in the future nobody knows.”
Ronaldo added, “It’s crazy. I remember when we played there against Manchester in the Champions League, they kill me. My heart was so happy. I had fantastic moments and I appreciate this club. For me it’s one of the best clubs in the world and I have passion for the club.”
He then went on to confirm that he still has close friends who work at the club. “Some players I am still in contact with because when I was there I created a good relationship with everybody, not just the players, all the staff around. And it was like my second family there too, so I’ll not forget that the people treat me well. I’ll not forget,” he continued.
Ronaldo also believes that success is set to return to the English club too, especially now that Louis Van Gaal is their manager. The Dutch coach replaced David Moyes in the role over the summer after the Scot was sacked for leading United to a lowly seventh place finish in his solitary season in charge.
“He is a fantastic coach, he showed all the time for Holland, the team played unbelievable, good football,” Ronaldo remarked of the coach. “And I hope that Manchester come back like the people know – always so strong, playing nice football with a lot of goals.”
Recently Ronaldo also admitted that he would like to continuing playing the game for six or seven more years. During an event in Tokyo, he explained: “I would like to play six or seven more years at the top level of club competition. I’m really focused. My injury is gone. I feel very, very good. I really want to get going again and stay in good shape until the end of the season.”
