Neil Patrick Harris, David Burtka Split: Cheating Rumors & Argument Over Marriage Date Leads To Separation

Neil Patrick Harris’ marriage to David Burtka has allegedly been called off after various cheating rumors were reported.

The duo have been engaged since 2011, however there still isn’t a wedding date in sight almost three years after the proposal, and now several publications have insisted that the duo have ended their relationship.

Star Magazine, according to CelebDirtyLaundry, have reported that another reason for the demise of their relationship is that the duo have been constantly arguing over an official wedding date. Their verbal sparring became so intense that they decided enough was enough and they would just cancel the wedding completely.

Insiders for the pair have now added that Burtka, who works as a professional chef, has been pining to exchange vows with Harris for several years. However, it is the How I Met Your Mother actor who doesn’t want to go through with it.

Meanwhile there have also been allegations that both Burtka and Harris have been caught cheating on each other. Over the last few years the pair have been living in Los Angeles while Harris has filmed the CBS sitcom, and it’s believed that Burtka felt so lost over in Hollywood that he sought the comfort of others, while Harris was constantly surrounded by available men who threw themselves at him.

However, the pair still have some hope of saving their relationship as they have recently moved to New York. They believe that the relocation could bring them closer together once again. Harris is currently starring on Broadway in Hedwig and the Angry Inch, and Burtka is also believed to have been jealous of his boyfriends actions because Neil got close to various men while on stage.

A source told Radar Online last month, “Neil and David came to an agreement that he would let Neil do Hedwig on Broadway for six months, including the rehearsals and previews. David was adamant that he not extend, partly, because moving to New York for long than the summer would have been too disruptive for the kids.”

Meanwhile, GossipCop.com have insisted that Patrick Harris and Burtka aren’t splitting up. They disputed the Star’s source, who had told the tabloid, “Neil wants to be working all the time, but if it were up to David, they would have been married a year ago. Their lives are in flux right now, and David feels like he’s just along for the ride.” GossipCop‘s insider explained that there is “absolutely no truth to the story.”
