‘Assassin’s Creed: Rogue’ Xbox 360, PS3 Official Title?

Could Assassin’s Creed: Rogue be the official title of Ubisoft’s latest for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3? For a while they were keeping silent on any official information on anything other than Unity, making many of us wonder if they were simply abandoning their mentioned plans to continue supporting the last generation consoles after Freedom Cry.

For the past few months, all we had to go on were rumors as Assassin’s Creed: Comet was the unconfirmed title we thought we would see, making us wonder practically everything about it. It wasn’t until a Swiss retailer displayed an ad for a new game on last gen consoles that we had any clue that they might be working on anything other than Unity.

We might know more about what could be Assassin’s Creed: Rogue on Xbox 360 and PS3 at Gamescom 2014 if Ubisoft decides to finally reveal it, if a mere month or two ahead of its release date.

Rumors still point to the game being about how Edward Kenway‘s son has taken command over his own ship, as one of his shipmates decides to turn “rogue” and start working for the Templars. It has been highly suggested that the latest Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 title would be a direct sequel to the success that was Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag. This would certainly make use of the much improved naval combat system so Ubisoft can recycle it one more time.

‘Assassin’s Creed: Rogue’ ad for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 revealed on retailer website.

World of Games is the retailer source for this new revelation, and some enterprising individual has managed to get a screen grab to prove the ad was real. The ad was quickly removed, but it’s coming close to time for Ubisoft to announce anything at all about the upcoming game. There are only a few months left in 2014 and they haven’t said a word of confirmation.
