‘The Bachelorette 2014’ Runner-Up Nick Viall Talks Andi Sex Comments, Reality Steve Spoiler Videos
Now that the finale of ABC’s The Bachelorette 2014 is over, Nick Viall has had to do some serious thinking about the things he has said and done throughout the season. Viewers watched Monday night as he cried and uncomfortably spilled that he and Andi Dorfman had “made love” in the fantasy suites, and many of the show’s fans are curious to see what he has to say it all now with a few days of reflection.
Viall talked with Entertainment Tonight, and it was an interesting interview. The Bachelorette 2014 runner-up said that producers had nothing to do with his revelation that he and Andi slept together in the fantasy suites. He says he takes “full responsibility” for what he said. Nick adds that he was just taken aback by Dorfman’s demeanor during the “After the Final Rose” special, as he felt a lack of empathy from her, and he worded things in a way he now wishes he hadn’t.
Interestingly Viall was also asked about those big The Bachelorette 2014 spoiler videos shared by Reality Steve early on this season. Many thought that the videos were a set-up or fake, but Viall himself admits they are real. It is interesting for Entertainment Tonight to acknowledge the videos, as most media outlets have not.
Nick says he was a mess at that time, which was just a couple of days after he was rejected by Dorfman. He was in the midst of flying home and he reached out to his parents via his cellphone and that’s the call that was recorded. He says he didn’t get in trouble with the network, but “they weren’t happy with me.” He says he knows he was awfully hard on Josh in the call, and he wishes he could take it back.
What do Andi and Josh say about the sex talk from the “After the Final Rose” special? They have said they think it was a bit classless of Nick to bring up, and clearly they are happy together and aren’t going to let Viall’s comments run their relationship off-track. Nick was even asked if he would be The Bachelor 2015. Some fans both support the idea and wonder if the network might be testing the waters on that front lately with Nick’s video package during the “ATFR” and his follow-up media interviews. Some have noticed that the runner-up doing media after the finale isn’t exactly the norm for this show.
Would Viall take on The Bachelor 2015? He says he is flattered and would consider it, but he hasn’t been asked yet. However, for the most part it seems the frontrunners for that spot are Arie Luyendyk Jr. and Chris Soules, and it would be awfully surprising if Nick Viall really had a shot at it.
What do you think of Nick’s comments regarding his experience with The Bachelorette 2014? Next up for the franchise is Bachelor in Paradise, which premieres Monday, Aug. 4 on ABC.
