WWE News: Daniel Bryan Will Not Return Until Royal Rumble 2015

It has been a rollercoaster ride for WWE superstar Daniel Bryan since he began his trek towards the WWE World Heavyweight championship last August. He was victorious at SummerSlam after defeating John Cena for the prestigious title and Bryan was on top of the WWE food chain for the first time in his illustrious career.

After Randy Orton cashed in his Money in the Bank briefcase with the help Triple H, that began said “rollercoaster” ride towards the top of WWE and the beginning of the “YES” movement.

All great things had to come to and end unfortunately as Bryan suffered an injury in his neck that caused him to forfeit the WWE World Heavyweight championship. To make matters worse, Joe Burgett of the Inquisitr reported last week that Bryan will need another surgery to fix a problem in his right shoulder.

Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter has new information on Bryan and his recovery status. Apparently, the two-time WWE World Heavyweight champion could make his emphatic return at the Royal Rumble in 2015.

“The WWE is currently working on the basis that Daniel Bryan won’t return from injury until January 2015, according to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter.”

Anything is subject to change, but Vince McMahon and the rest of the WWE Creative staff has to plan long-term for his comeback. They could get extremely lucky and have another Edge or John Cena moment. Both men suffered horrible injuries (torn Achilles tendon and torn pectoral muscle respectively) and returned about six to seven months later. Ironically, Edge and Cena won the Royal Rumbles in their respective years.

The delicate job WWE has to do is ease Bryan back in and not let him even get close to a ring or a bump until the doctors approve his health. Too many times in life have athletes returned from injury too fast, and only aggravate their pre-existing injury. Hopefully, WWE doctors are too wise for stupid mistakes such as those.

On top of that, Bryan is now a solidified main-event player. No more will he be in the mid-card as a wasted talent. They will have to be very careful who becomes the next WWE World Heavyweight champion and whom Bryan will feud with when he comes back. If the Authority storyline continues, that could be an easy choice for Bryan to battle with.

Especially after Bryan’s stoppage of the burglar at his home, he will not be a heel for quite a long time. The fans probably love Bryan even more if that is even possible.

A lot has transpired since Bryan went down with an injury, so to ensure a smooth transition back into the ring, a WWE World Heavyweight championship rematch would suffice. After all, he never lost the belt to begin with. We’ll keep you updated on Bryan’s status as his story continues.
