Teresa Giudice Fired: ‘Real Housewives Of New Jersey’ Star Reportedly Canned For Refusing To Film In Miami
Teresa Giudice has reportedly been fired from The Real Housewives of New Jersey after Bravo execs grew tired of her unwillingness to go the extra mile for the show, a new report claims.
There have been ongoing reports of tension between Giudice and Bravo, the network that made her a reality television star. This culminated with Teresa’s decision not to travel to Miami to film the annual cast trip, which at the time she blamed on her legal troubles.
But sources say that Bravo wasn’t buying the excuse, and wanted their top star — whose salary reportedly approaches $700,000 — to come along.
Celeb Dirty Laundry has the details:
“However, Bravo was reportedly very upset with Teresa’s refusal to go, especially since she is the cast’s biggest name. She brings in most of the advertisement and viewers, and without her, the show is left without its biggest scandal and its biggest tabloid draw. As such, I can see why Bravo network execs are pissed, but I can also see why Teresa refused to go. I never thought I’d say this, but I actually don’t think Teresa’s in the wrong here.”
There is no verification that Teresa Giudice has been fired from Real Housewives of New Jersey, and network executives haven’t spoken about her officially, but there are some obvious signs of tension. In July, Giudice was reportedly banned from Bravo’s Watch What Happens with Andy Cohen.
There may also be bigger problems for RHONJ. The show’s viewership has been sinking, and the July 20 episode drew only 1.6 million viewers, the worst single episode in the show’s history.
Radar Online noted that producers were much more willing to tolerate Teresa Giudice when the show was killing it in the ratings, but are now losing patience with her quickly.
“Bravo bosses are starting to think that Teresa just isn’t worth keeping around if her diva behavior continues. The network is very sensitive to the fact that she is facing a looming prison sentence, and has tried to work with her during this difficult time,” an insider explained. “Teresa should start treating the producers and network executives with dignity and respect. They don’t have the time nor patience to deal with her temper tantrums. Teresa should recognize her only source of income is from the show.”
Now, there are rumors that Real Housewives of New Jersey may not see another season, so apparently it would not matter much if Teresa Giudice is fired
