Ohio Sheriff Sends Jail Bill For Illegal Immigrants To Mexican President
Ohio Sheriff Richard Jones sent a letter to Mexican President Enrique Pena Nieto that included a jail bill for the illegal immigrants he was forced to house and feed. The Butler County Sheriff also send a letter to Ohio Governor John Kasich imploring him to support efforts to secure the border and fight against any efforts by the federal government to send busloads of illegal aliens into the Buckeye State for processing and release into the community.
Sheriff Richard Jones’ letter garnered international headlines after he received an icy response from the Obama administration and alleged threats from the Mexican drug cartel. “The federal government sends me a letter and said I violated a treaty of like, 1790,” Sheriff Jones stated during an interview with The Blaze.
The Ohio Sheriff told the media that the FBI called him and two others sheriffs to inform them they are now murder targets by the drug cartel.
The Butler County Sheriff also had this to say about what has occurred since he sent a jail bill for illegal immigrants to the president of Mexico:
“I sent him a bill for the prisoners that are in my jail. They came here illegally. I’ve not gotten any money from them, but I billed them so much. And I’ll tell you what I got in return, my life was threatened. It’s pretty simple. We’ve got to fix the borders and apparently our top leadership in government, on both sides, refuse to fix it so we all lose. All these executive orders and all the others, the churches and the police, and the social services agencies, we’re overwhelmed. There’s no money. We’re broke.”

Sheriff Jones also added that while he has compassion for the children who crossed the border illegally from Central American and Mexico, but caring for them is simply not affordable. As previously reported by The Inquisitr, approximately 65,000 illegal immigrants have crossed the Texas border already this year. About one-third of the illegal aliens are children. The term “children” has been highly debated in the past several weeks. A Pew report based upon government statistics discovered that the majority of the “unaccompanied children” are males in their early to late teens. Members of MS-13, a deadly gang, are reportedly among those illegally crossing the border and being released into the community pending a deportation hearing.
The Ohio Sheriff also added this about the need to secure the border:
“We’ve had horrendous crimes here in this community. We had a senior citizen, an elderly lady, molested by a teenage that came over from Mexico. We had another one molested – an eight year old girl. We’ve had drugs pouring in more so than before the government said the borders were sealed. And we’re being run over by the drug dealers coming to this community. The violence has increased and we’re a long way from the borders.”
What do you think about the Ohio Sheriff sending a jail bill of illegal immigrants housed in his county to the Mexican President? Should border security be a top priority for the Obama administration and Congress?
