Kate Upton Reveals She’s ‘Very Proud’ Of Her Healthy Curves
Kate Upton is curvy and proud of it, and why would’s she be? After all, she does look more than a bit stunning on Elle’s September front cover.
She spoke to the publication, at some length, about her dangerous curves and spoke about how she loves the fact she has them, and is totally out of the closet about it:
“When I first started modeling, I was a normal catalogue model, then, I became a woman, and I was really excited… Because I’m from Florida, it’s all about being in bathing suits… You are ugly if you don’t have a curvy body. And I didn’t have one, and then I got one, and thought, ‘Yessss!'”
And while Kate Upton really accepts the status of “healthy,” at least as far as the modeling world is concerned, she isn’t shy nor embarrassed about it, as she once was, and to the contrary, said she has wanted a body like this all her life:
“Then people say: ‘Oh, wow, you’re healthy.’ And [I’m] like, ‘Wait—what? I’ve been begging for this body my whole life!'”
Nevertheless, achieving the perfect “healthy” curves is no mean feat, and it certainly hasn’t been easy for the Sports Illustrated model. Having landed her first cover with that publication in 2012, she went on to reveal that she felt just awful about herself for a whole month after her first appearance in the magazine:
“After my first Sports Illustrated cover, I felt terrible about myself for a solid mont. Every single guy I met was either married or about to be married, and I felt like I was their bachelor present or something… I’m not a toy, I’m a human, I’m not here to be used. I am a grown woman, and you need to figure your s**t out,” she told Elle.
Kate Upton gives strength to woman who are slightly larger than the average, and we think that’s a good thing, especially in a day and age where overly skinny models are idolized and a generation of teenagers find themselves struggling with weight issues while being influenced constantly to lose weight.
