Ben Affleck’s Batsuit Displayed At San Diego Comic-Con
A day after director Zack Snyder shared a close-up of Ben Affleck wearing his batsuit on Twitter, fans attending Comic-Con in San Diego are getting a much better look at the iconic costume. All new and revamped for the Man of Steel sequel, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, this is not your father’s batsuit.
Those lucky (and brave) enough to fight the sea of people attending Comic-Con can find Ben Affleck’s batsuit at the DC Entertainment display on the convention floor. However, it’s not the full costume, as DC did with Henry Cavill’s Superman costume last year, only the cape and cowl are there for all to see.
As Snyder did with the Superman costume in Man of Steel, the batsuit Ben Affleck will wear in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice is very different from those we’ve seen in the past. Snyder emphasized that he wanted it to look nothing like Christian Bale’s in Christopher Nolan’s Dark Knight trilogy.
Ben Affleck is currently filming Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice in Detroit, alongside Henry Cavill, who reprises his role as Superman. As expected, Zack Snyder doesn’t want any set leaks and is doing everything in his power to prevent them.
The director has reportedly asked his main cast, Affleck, Cavill, and Gal Gadot (Wonder Woman) to wear black robes while on set if they are not participating in a scene. This is in order to avoid photos being taken without authorization.
Most of the crew and some of the cast have been in Michigan since last winter. Ben Affleck and Henry Cavill have undergone a rigorous training program to get Batman and Superman ready to battle it out for the first time in history. From the looks of it, they are both ready to show their muscles in the much anticipated Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice.
Even though Warner Bros. released a poster featuring Henry Cavill in a tweaked Superman suit, a tad different from the costume he wore for Man of Steel, the studio has kept Ben Affleck in his batsuit under wraps. The DC Entertainment display was part of the celebrations to commemorate Batman’s 75th anniversary.
Are you attending Comic-Con? Have you seen Ben Affleck’s batsuit yet?
