Selena Gomez Pushes Pushy Paparazzo As She Celebrates Birthday With Cara Delevingne
Selena Gomez pushed a pushy paparazzo in a display of temper while celebrating the eve of her 22nd birthday on a billionaire’s luxe yacht in Saint-Tropez, France, Monday.
It wasn’t a shove, strike, or lash out — just some of the overkill descriptions flying about. But clearly Gomez took exception to what the photog was doing.
At the time, Selena and model friend Cara Delevingne had just stepped ashore after relaxing on billionaire Alshair Fiyaz’s Ecstasea yacht. As the girls made their way through a scrum of snapping paps, Gomez pushed one shutterbug away from her.
It seemed like a light push. Check out the video of it below.
Readers may agree that it’s not entirely clear what the paparazzo did that singled him out for Gomez’s wrath. The man called out “Selena, Selena,” but so did other paps. He also wasn’t that near to the now 22-year-old, so it’s not certain he was crowding her.
Perhaps it was just a bad moment that provoked a physical reaction from the Disney alum?
Inevitably, the Latina’s on-again, off-again beau Justin Bieber — with his difficult history with paparazzi – is being blamed for Selena’s wee She-Hulk moment. Because everything Gomez does must forever be traced back to the Biebs.
It’s almost as if Selena didn’t say “What the f**k!” onstage at KIIS FM’s Jingle Ball show last August, and didn’t storm out of countless dates with Bieber throughout their fractious, four-year relationship.
Most reports are acting as if the “Baby” star exercises a Rasputin-like hold over the “Come & Get It” star, and can turn her from a mildly temperamental pop princess into James Woods.
No. We’re not buying it either. Functional people above a certain age are responsible for their own actions.

In other Gomez news, before the brunette arrived in Saint-Tropez, the starlet spent four days being honored and premiering her William H. Macy-directed film Rudderless at the Ischia Global Film and Music Festival in Italy.
The birthday girl was snapped looking fresh on the yacht in a white one-piece at one point, retro shorts and halter-neck at another on the eve of her big day. On July 22, Selena went jet-skiing and parasailing with Cara and a group including Royal Yacht Supplies founder, Tommaso “Tommy” Chiabra, 28, whom the she was seen sharing a towel with.
Ironically, although we’ve been defending Bieber from being blamed for everything Selena does, he did send a shady zinger to his former sweetheart before her birthday. And it wasn’t a good look. The 20-year-old uploaded a photo of a Guess model, asking on Instagam:
“Who is this Guess Model. She is stunning,” Justin wrote.
Ouch! Guess Jelena’s rebound dating war is still on, then.

On the upside, Selena received an Instagram video from male model Andre Hamann over the weekend, and a sweet shout-out from Taylor Swift.
Swift uploaded an Instagram photo of herself wearing an “S” necklace, and wrote: “Usually this S represents ‘Swift’ but today I’m wearing it because SELENA IS 22!!!!”
Quite so. Happy Birthday Ms. Gomez, and may paparazzi everywhere beware — just a little.
