Beyoncé Teases ‘Fifty Shades Of Grey’ Trailer

When you think of Beyoncé, the upcoming BDSM film Fifty Shades of Grey doesn’t naturally come to mind, but maybe it will now. Beyoncé is apparently super excited for the film. In a genius move by Focus Features, the studio has used Beyoncé to promote the film on her Instagram account which boasts 13 million followers.

Although we don’t have official word that Beyoncé is involved in Fifty Shades of Grey, it looks like as far as the promotion and marketing goes, her song “Crazy In Love” will be used for the film. That song in particular; brazen in its lyrics about the obsessive nature of being in love is a perfect match for the BDSM film. The song used in the small teaser sounds like a revamped version of the song.

Fifty Shades of Grey was originally based on Twilight fan fiction, but with a few plot details skewed and the names of characters changed, it became a best selling novel- turned-trilogy by E.L. James. The story follows a young college girl named Anastasia who is sent in to interview a young powerful and intriguingly mystifying business magnate Christian Grey.

A story about a virgin’s sexual awakening through BDSM, Anastasia becomes involved in a bondage-discipline relationship with the elusive business man. A lot of fans of the trilogy are waiting to see how Dakota Johnson and Jamie Dornan pull off the roles, and if the film meets their NC-17 expectations despite the film being rated a soft R.

While director Sam Taylor-Johnson has been quiet about the production, producer Michael De Luca said of Sam’s ability:

“Sam’s unique ability to gracefully showcase complex relationships dealing with love, emotion and sexual chemistry make her the ideal director to bring Christian and Anastasia’s relationship to life.

“E.L. James’s characters and vivid storytelling require a director who is willing to take risks and push the envelope where needed, and Sam is a natural fit.”

The use of Beyonce’s “Crazy In Love” puts forth an exciting touch to an already hotly anticipated film. According to the singer, fans won’t have to wait long for the full-length trailer of Fifty Shades of Grey. The full trailer will drop on Thursday July 24.

This isn’t the first time Beyoncé has been involved in the production of Fifty Shades of Grey. Back in March, during CinemaCon, a teaser for Fifty Shades of Grey was released with her song “Haunted” underscoring the footage. In addition to the small tease of the trailer, fans have been able to catch glimpses of Jamie Dornan as Christian Grey through promotional posters and stills.
